It is a Christian wedding at we hope to have the ceremony in a sanctuary. So, the minimum is pastor and the two of us. From this starting point, who else needs to be there? Thanks!

The last time I checked the suggested minimum is 4, perhaps 5 depending on local and state law.

Bride
Groom
Minister
Legal Witness (which could be the minister's spouse)
Legal Witness (some states/localities do not require each to provide their own witness, in some instances as long as there is one legal witness -preferably a notary public- a marriage can be performed)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Well, you would also need a best man, a maid or maidren of honor and someone to give the bride away-if you wanted to be technical on the who's who on being there at the ceremony. Of course, in the church, there will be an organist there to play the music and maybe a friend who will take a good picture or so of you and the bride. That should be-give or take-less then 10 people. So, that is all you need. The "witnesses" will be the pastor, the best man, the organist, the maid of honor and that would be it. That is really all you need. Now, if you want to kill two birds with one stone, you may have the pastor(if you ask) to take the picture of you and your lovely bride (with a nice digital camera) and take as many pictures with that and later pick out the ones that you think are the best ones, make copies of it and hang it up in your home. Then, change and go out to a nice resturant or something or whatever you have planned. You could do this at the Justice of the Peace, but, if you want to do this at a church, then I think this is the right way of doing it.
I wish you the best and I hope everything works out well for you.

I would say all the people that you'd like to help you celebrate your love. If that happens to be a whole bunch of people than that can be fun. But sometimes I think that it's a bit more intimate and romantic to just have a few friends and family but I like weddings like that when people have them on a beach or a setting other than a church. For church weddings I think it usually looks pretty sad and vacant if it isn't full of people. So if you're set on a wedding at a sanctuary invite friends and family, if it's somewhere dreamy make it less people.

If you are in a state/county that requires witnesses then you need one or two more people; whichever is required. If not, you already have enough. The fact that it's Christian or civil is not a factor.
Some places require you to have a witness when you apply for your marriage license.

I'm performing a [Christian] ceremony for a couple in KY, they need 2 witnesses there. Here in Ohio, witnesses aren't needed. Accept the county I'm in still requires them for some reason. SO I make sure there are at least 5 of us in this county.

If you're asking for the minimum-the two of you, the pastor, and I think you only need 1 witness, but you might need 2.

It all depends on what state you're in. In most states you have to have two witnesses but others you don't. West Virginia you only have the couple getting married and the one preforming the ceremony.

Bride, groom and 2 witnesses. I was married in our house and there was only 5 people there, total. The rest is all up to you. Have a great day.

Besides the bride, groom, and pastor, you need two witnesses; that's usually the maid of honor and best man. That's all you "need."

You'll need 2 adult witnesses to sign the marriage certificate, and after that- whoever you want! It's your wedding - you call the shots.

Depending on what state you're getting married in you could possibly need witnesses to your marriage. Other than that you don't NEED anyone else there.
