I am set on a photo wedding theme. I thought of decorating the church with his photos on the right wall and my photos on the left wall to represent the side. In the middle having our photos from our relationship. Would this seem completly tacky? The cake is going to have 3 layers, one of me, one of him, and then the top being us. Will this be too much?

Get married, what song are you considering? I guess this goes for the more traditional types of weddings..... Basically, what song was playing during the ceremony, when you went to stand with husband-to-be? :*-)

my new husband jo is a very devoted/supporting dad/exhusband.jo promised hi ex they would raise thier only child tom together after the divorce.because of this jo maintains daily contact(phone, email ect)with his ex regarding everthing from sports/school activities to what tom ate for lunch.its not unlike her to call jo for 20 mins to tell him what she and tom did for the day.i understand jo does not what to miss out on anything with his son but tom is 7yrs old and old enougth to tell his dad what he did.i feel like hes still married to her just not living with her.this would not bother me much if his ex was not so bitter to me and except me.she had made it very clear i will never be part of her "family unit"and wants me to have nothing to do with toms life as i'm not really family.since jo's life revolves around his son it is hard for me not to be involved.jo will not back me on any of this as he says its her right as a mom to decide what i can an can't do regarding tom and if he stands up for me it will only make it worse for tom.

There are several people that we feel could cause problems at a wedding, but they are "dating" people that should be there. Is it possible to invite them to the reception only, even though they would be with a couple of the people at the actual ceremony? We would invite them only to the reception, where we would know they wont ruin the ceremony, just to be fair. How would you go about inviting someone and not a guest with them, by keeping the ceremony family only, if we have one? Can we invite the person (say his father) to just the ceremony and then seperately his significant other to just the reception so she doesnt cause issues? What should we do? How could we word the invitation so they know that he cant bring her to the wedding? Do we send just a seperate invitiation to her worded for those just welcome to the reception? This is a tough situation, but I want it family only and she will cause issues, and she isnt welcome under the circumstances she has caused....

I am custom making my bridesmaids and mother of the bride tote bags. At this point, I am uploading a photo of a single orange mini calla lily and then putting "Bridesmaid", "Maid of Honor", and "Mother of the Bride" beneathe the flower. Would it be better to do initials? I was thinking they might get more use after the wedding, but I thought my first idea was so cute. What do you think?

I am planning our wedding for this July. My parents are paying for 99% of the wedding. They want my fiance to get more involved in the planning yet are very controlling over all the decisions. He feels as though nothing is his decision because they are paying for it. It is coming off to my parents as if the wedding is not important to him. Now I'm stuck in the middle trying to make everyone happy and seems I'm losing out on the deal! I've talked to both sides and my parents aren't backing off and he's not stepping up to the plate! How do I make it a more enjoyable experiance and stop them from destroying their relationship (my parents and the fiance)

I know that typically the brides family pays for the wedding and the grooms family pays for the rehersal dinner and during the rehersal dinner gifts are given form the bride and groom to the wedding party and parents. What if the bride and groom are paying for everything? Do we still give gifts to our parents (as far as ettiqutte goes)? We are also moving into a new home right before the wedding so our money for extras is limited. We have purchased gifts for my bridesmaid and his best man but werent sure about gifts for the parents. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

My partner and I plan to get married next year . The thing is his mum has a taken a completely irrational dislike to me!..well more of a hatred! When she calls here to speak to him she doesn't acknowledge me or even ask him how I am when getting an update on what he's up to etc. She didn't congratulate him on gettting engaged and blanked me at the party!
I know its a while off yet, but do we have to invite her to our wedding? I feel the whole day will be spolied for me by her hostility, but shes his mum!

Do people still use cake toppers for their wedding cakes? I was thinking about doing something like this http://www.dessertworks.net/pics/weddingnn.jpg for my fall wedding. I wouldn't be opposed to doing a topper, but haven't found any I like and think it would be too much (gaudy) for what I want to do. What do you think?

All of you are not reading the question. I said that was an example of what I have found in agreements that I didn't consider. Boy, AMericans really ARE quite judgmental, aren't they? Anyway, I will repeat the question and PLEASE READ. Thanks. I am asking for other examples, not comments on the examples that I found.

What are some things that you wish you had included in your divorce agreement but didn't?
I have looked at EXAMPLES and so far the only thing that I have found that I had left out of my notes was that the husband cannot bring girlfriends, concubines or the new wife (or males filling those roles, if that is the case) to any events for the children, i.e., weddings, graduation, school plays, sporting events, recitals, demonstrations, plays, etc. There will be no birthday celebrations except those held at either his home or hers (e.g., no Chucky Cheese's) unless both parties consent and neither party will take the children out of town on their birthdays.

What 3 songs would you suggest to play during the ceremony? For the wedding Party's entrance? The bride's entrance? And the wedding party's exit?

But our budgets are crazy different. My budget is 20,000 and her's is $5,000 for the whole wedding. Can you have a catered event for under $5,000? She wants a full dinner, drinks and real silverware and plates. She wants to have it somewhere, not in her home or anyone else house. I am trying to help her but I am not sure if it's do able on her budget. She lives in Rhode Island and it's kinda pricey around there. Any suggestion or websites for small to low budget weddings?? She wants to be able to have 100-150 people.
