Is it normal to have the bridesmaids pay for their own dresses or is it the brides job?

Hello everybody!
I just bought a beautiful engagement ring from Costco, but it's about 1/2 to 1 size too big. I would like to get it re-sized...whats the best way to do this? Obviously, Costco doesnt provide this service.

Also, I've heard of horror stories about jeweler's switching out the diamond on the ring for a lower-grade diamond or cubic zirconia when people get their ring's re-sized. How can I prevent this from happening?

I've called a few places in my neighborhood, and they all want to ship the ring off to somewhere else to do the resizing...which will take about 5 days, they say. Is this normal?

Thanks!

We're having our summer wedding at a nice bed and breakfast where the owner is an Italian chef, and we are trying to figure out a nice luncheon for the reception. Right now our ideas are chicken and salmon, or maybe lasagna with perhaps another dish incase someone doesn't like it. Anyone else have any ideas? Or something that may go with the lasagna?...which I'm also worried about because it's messy!

My bridesmaids dresses are going to be burnt orange. We were thinking that gold sandles would work versus silver, however, my fiance has some deep hatred towards gold shoes. I was thinking maybe copper, bronze, or brown instead. What do you think? And, where would I find them at an affordable price? Any other suggestions? (No dyeables please..ewe.)

I dont know what to think?
My boyfriend is 26 hes a 1st LT we have been talking about getting married because he might be getting stationed in Germany! So when we were in Indiana at Christmas with his family he said we will go to the court house if I get the job because I wont go without you. But now it looks like he is going to be getting the job and it stresses me out and scares me cause he will be gone for 2 years. When he told me I stayed strong and I was kidding and I said you cant go without me and he said well you cant go. So I dont know if he is just saying that or if he is going to propose and hes just trying to throw me off. Please help. Let me know what you guys think! Thank you

I'm the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding in April. How much of a gift am I expected to give? Am I to take into consideration that I have to pay to get my hair, makeup and nails done on top of getting a dress & shoes? Or not? Do I give more since I'm the Maid of Honor or can I give the normal amount I would give if I were just a reglaur attendee? Please help!

I mean, why do people get back with their ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends? They've exprienced the disappointment once, but they do it again! Don't you ever learn? Don't you think that with the amount of people on this planet (and there are some pretty good looking ones... ok, not all of them for sure!) it would be wiser to turn the page and start anew? It seems to be the easiest the thing to do rather than go out and find somebody new... Why do people do that?

Ok.... My Brother and Soon to be Sister in law moved their wedding up. I went in and got measured and paid for my dress. She told me I was a size 12. I got home looked up the measurments for alfred angelo dresses and there is no way I will fit in that dress. According to their chart a size 12 is 38 1/2 bust 29 1/2 waist and 41 inch hips. I am all of those except the waist. I am a 32-33 inch waist. How do they expect me to fit in this dress?? I am a little worried about it since the wedding was moved up to March from June. The woman told me I was in between a size 12 and 14 and that she was going to order the 12. There are no refunds and the dresses do not come in till March 12th and the wedding is on March 30th. Should I call there and talk to the lady or just hope she knows her job?? On top of it. My other sister in law is a little bit bigger than me and they ordered her a size 12 also. I know there is about a inch on each side to take out. But that still will not make it fit. Help

Unsure about this. Previous family weddings paid for by us, parents there was no limit on guests. This daughter wants no more that 80 at meal as her partner has a very small number coming. It is the trend here to send invites out in batches as in if you receive regrets a few weeks later send to others. I personally feel people know they are obviously 2nd choice Lots of cousins are on our lists but only 1 is in a relationship. At my last daughter's wedding they replied saying they were coming on their own. These are my husband's sisters families whom I get on with but not the same as your own siblings. Would it be rude to
explain beforehand saying if they wished to bring a guest they were more than welcome but because of numbers this time I felt it would be a bit late when their replies were received to send invites out? We are talking over 20 people here so it would mean about 10 couples we would have liked to have been invited from the beginning It's akward with limited nos.

My officemate's sister is getting married so we always swap stories. She just had her sister shower and the grooms side of the family started off by taking 2 or 3 favors to start...... so some people, mostly her family didn't get a favor. Then they drank as much liquor as they could and it was brunch!! Then to top it off they tried to steal the frames off the table that had the table numbers on them. They stopped them before they did it because they were owned by the restaurant!! She said she was positive their purse were filled with bread breakfast products too!!!
Soo funny!! Anyone else have any funny wedding stories??
