so i want to propose to my girl. i want some ideas to integrate into my own. i was wondering if anyone has any cute ideas. she's a kind of shy girl, so nothing like on the big screen at a basketball game or something...if there were to be other people than it'd have to be close family/friends. she also likes the color pink. and she loves chocolate (what girl doesn't? :-p) she's a girly girl, so don't be shy with you're advices. i just need a whole bunch of ideas. thanks!

I accepted the position of a bridesmaid to a friend, even tho I knew I didnt want to. She's 1 of those 'friends' that no-1 really likes, but put up with her basically becos she's the girlfriend of one of the 'boys'. She does have many good points, & I grew very close with her over the last 2 years, but then the bad started to outweigh the good, & she became even more manipulative & just a plain *****. After about of month of craziness, I wrote her a letter, & said I can't be your bridesmaid etc.. This happened last August. Her wedding is coming up in April, & while I still was a bridesmaid, she asked my partner to MC the wedding, which he still is doing. Since then, her partner, & her fam, have pretty mcuh ignored me. & I can totally understand why! All our other friends have supported me through this tho, but I just think it would be easier not to go, since it's obvious Im not wanted. But not going might make an even bigger statement? Appreciate your opinion!

: If a woman waits until her early 30's to marry. Does it increase the rate of a longer more successful marriage? Will it increase her chances of choosing the right partner/Husband to build a family with?

We've been invited to a wedding in the south suburbs of Chicago where we grew up. The groom is a casual acquaintance of my husband. The reception is in a VFW hall, where the custom is to have either a live band or a DJ, a sit down family style dinner and an open bar. For gifts, the custom is to put a check in a card. What do you think is the appropriate amount to give, and why?

Hi this isn't Jackie just so you all know this is her sister i hope this isn't a problem
my boyfriend and i have been seeing each other since the 6th grade. We have never EVER broken up once. I'm not trying to make our relationship sound like the "perfect one because we did have our arguments and such. We both decided it would be best for us to attend the same college as well. We have been engaged since my junior year of college and we had plans to get married right after we both graduated college this year our "graduation gift" to each other. I have loved him for 10 years of my life! I was 12 and i am no 22. TODAY...out of nowhere he told me he could not marry me. He said he felt he had to at some point in his life experience other women before he could marry me. He told me he's felt "confined to me." his whole life and he would like to meet other women. WHY would he break off the engagement like this? I'm shocked..i feel like i wasted 10 years of my life! I LOVE HIM what should i do

Engagement ring inquiry?
My sister's b/f asked me to go w/ him to pick out a ring for my sister, but she has simple, but hard to find taste and we're thinking about having one designed for her. I am looking for people who have buying experience in this department, where I can I find the cheapest and nicest place online (or that will ship out) to design and buy an engagement ring, maybe even an entire set.......

She insists on white gold or platinum and I would prefer sites/places that have many options as in the diamond and the ring shape.
Her dream ring is a Marquise diamond (or a diamond set <>
princess cut diamond) on a v-shaped band. Please help!!!!Thank you.

We have been going out for just about 2 years now.. she lives with me on the weekends when I'm off work. I'm 21 and a police officer so I have the whole career thing going for me already and we have been talking about moving out with eachother soon after I Graduate the police academy and get some money in the bank. Just wondering when the right time to get engaged would be? I know this is the girl I want to be with, we get along great and share so many of the same characteristics and views.

i went to a parent/teacher conference with my new husband for the 1st time and this really pissed his exwife off.she had to go by herself.she feels she should go with my husband not me and i have no right going since i'm not her sons mom.she made such a stink the school asked my husband to keep me away to avoid any more problems.since this happened she has done other things to let me know she will always be queen bee since she has a son with my husband and i don't.my husband and her both have joint custody and he does not agree with this but will not go against her in fear it will hurt his son.was she right to act this way?should i just back off with kids stuff till she finds a new husband to keep her busy?

I am looking for wording for wedding invitations.
I have heard of people who at the time of gettingmarried have been living together for years and therefore dont need any gifts, so tey put a verse in the invite stating such, and requesting money to a travel agent for honey moon, wishing well, etc.
Has anyone seen or used any of these clever verses?

I'm ordering the flowers for my wedding shortly & was wondering who should get flowers. I'm wanting to get a general idea of how much the flowers are going to cost total.

Obviously, I have mine & the groom gets a boutineer. We aren't having bridesmaids or groomsmen, so that's not an issue. My dad is in the wedding so he is getting a boutineer. Does the grooms father normally get one as well? How about the mother's, do they normally get a corsage? I also wasn't sure about the grandmothers either.

Thanks in advance.

My boyfriend and I just got engaged and have decided to get married early Summer 2009. Even though it's still a couple of years away, I would like to start estimating the cost of the wedding, and checking out locations. How long should I wait before I start planning the wedding? My parents had a very small simple wedding, and I want a small, but nice wedding w/ our closest relatives and friends, which will end up being around 100-125 people.
