If it is a couple's ring some people like to have the date they got together or their names on the outer side. If the ring was expensive, don't engrave because the person engraving it could get nervous and mess up.
If it is on the inner part of the ring, it wouldn't matter since you'd be wearing the ring.

Hi, Some people put I Love You.Or from your soulmate. Or a nickname, like BABY,Honey,Lover, and so on. It really depends if the ring is going to a special friend,or it's for you.

Engrave the endearment you use to call the one you're giving the ring to...
For example:
Angel
My Dearest
and so on...
If you don't like that idea, try using those endearments in a different language... which makes it more romantic...
Good Luck!!!

It depends on if the ring is for yourself or to be given as a gift.
If it's for you, you could write a favorite phrase, or your knickname.
If it's a high school ring, then you would write your high school name and date you graduated.
If it's a gift, you could write "Happy Birthday", with their birth date, or "I Love You", with current date or date of anniversary. It just depends on the occasion.

Get a thesaurus out and pick some words that best describe the spouse or your feelings for them. Also popular are important dates that become inscribed. Needs to be meaningful, or it is pointless! Search your heart!

I think you should put the first persons answer as best answer BUT my husband and I are going to put our "couples Bible verse" on our rings eventually, because it is sort of a reminder of why we are in this, even when he won't put the toilet seat down and even when I tell him to fold laundry.

It depends on what you're trying to say. Maybe something like "From my heart to yours..." or "Here's to love" or something. Don't say anything you don't mean. Because saying something out loud is committal, but engraving it is like setting your feelings in stone, there to last for all eternity. Be careful what you say...

Names, important dates, important phrases, etc.
On our wedding rings, my husband and I had engraved the phrase "With You, O LORD" (in Hebrew), because that is such an important part of our relationship and what holds us together.
