Well, I think that you should keep it. You don't need to tell everyone that it was meant for his ex girlfriend! Especially if you think it is beautiful.
Its up to you though.

If you love the ring, tell your fiancee this: "I absolutely love this ring. I know you weren't thinking of me when you bought it, because you didn't know me; but everything happens for a reason, and I think the reason you got engaged to your ex was so that you'd have this ring all picked out and ready to go when I came along." Then smile, give him a kiss, and concentrate on getting your wedding planned -- you've got lots of work to do.
As for your own feelings on the subject, if you love it, don't worry about what other people think -- and every time you look at it, remember how different life would have been if he'd married that girl instead, and how much better off he is with you, and vice versa.
Congratulations!

Promise rings at the instant are not comparable to engagement rings. A promise ring is a ring promising to stay authentic to a minimum of one yet another. there remains no promise of marrying with a promise ring. An engagement ring is a ring that symbolized that the two people comply with get married and plan a marriage interior the close to destiny

That is completely up to you. You could go and look at new ones-all engagment rings are beautiful. You could also use the diamond in that ring for your new one. Some people are superstitious about an already "used" ring. So if it doesn't bother you, keep the information to your self and wear it with pride. It symbolizes something more than just his ex's ring.

Just listen to your heart. Calm down and think about it. If you are comfortable wearing the ring, wear it. Otherwise, pick out one that is similar - that might be easier. You don't want to wear a ring for the rest of your life that reminds you of an ex-lover.
Just my thoughts.

That's up to you & what you feel comfortable with. Personally I rather have no ring than the ring which was meant for a former girlfriend. But at the end of the day it's your choice.

The ring was intended for his ex. Make him go out and get you your own ring. Most place wont give you what you paid for the diamond, but they will apply something it to the next ring purchase.

Follow your heart. If you truly love the ring, don't waste the money on another. But talk to him. If he would be uncomfortable with you wearing it, then maybe you should find something similar, or have the stones reset.

i think you should pick another one. you will find one that you like just as much, and you will like it better because he chose it for you. even if the ring you're wearing now is nice, i don't think it would feel as special since he was going to give it to his ex-fiance.
its up to you, but if i were in the situation i would want one that was made for me, not some other girl.

keep that one and dont tell everyone it was his ex's...its none of anyone's concern any way! Or...if you want, because I would probably want a different one too, use the diamond from that ring in a different setting if youre on a budget.
