Ask around with other jewlery stores! They may even buy it from you outright! I know my local jeweler does that! Then he sells it when he is ready, or he puts it in another setting, either way, he buys it from you and then you are finished with it!
A pawn shop will probably never pay you close to what it's worth! I've never delt witht hem personally, but I've heard they underpay!
Ebay would be a good option, as long as you set a reserve. Not sure how much of a percetnage they charge based on what you sell it for! Check it out first, it may be cheaper to go through your jeweler! Ebay makes money by charging a percentage of the total amount of the item sold.
Good luck!
I hate to say reuse the ring, but you could have the diamond reset as something else and then use that! Hey I would love a good diamond pendant necklace, most girls would also!

what about craigeslist I think that is another website where you can sell things. Ebay might work as well. a pond shop wont give you much why dont you put it in a ad in your local news paper. or try to spread the word with friends and family and they might find you a buyer. Try ebay first but make sure you get a great picture on there. Good Luck

Why are you reselling it?
Put the stone in a new mounting for the next woman. That will be less than paying a finder's fee.

personally i would allow the jewelry store where i bought it to sell it for me at a 12% fee. you will probably never get what you want for it from e-bay if you can sell it there, with the value of what you are selling i would not trust a stranger on eBay to pay for it. I have been burnt by people paying with pay-pal but they forgot to put the money in their account or overspent it. e-bay is very little to no help in helping you get your money,

I would allow your jeweler to resell it for you; the fee sounds reasonable to me, and will cover the costs he may incur with resetting, restocking, etc. Then, it'll be off your mind, and you can move on. In my case, it was impossible to return the rings, and since they weren't all that expensive to begin with, I donated them to our local charity shop, rather than keep them around and try to sell them to someone else. Felt REALLY good to get them out of the house.

Sell it on Ebay or try a pawn shop. The stone is worth more than the gold .And make sure that you tell them what cut you have.

You could try running an ad in your local newspaper or try e-bay (with a reserve so you get what its worth) i think the jeweler is raking you.
