We hired a DJ, Photographer and videographer at the same company and paid the down payment. When we ask for a receipt and a copy of the contract they told us to submit the reception order and send it to them and they will send a copy of the contract. After 2 weeks of calling and telling them we need it. They finally send this paper which we fill out with our information with no company heading, signature from them, a return address from the mail and just a handwritten note of what we paid and our balance.

My 20 year old neice is getting married and I'm not interested in attending her wedding for several reasons. For one, I think she is way too young and I am 100% sure it will end in divorce within the next 2 years. Of course I didn't tell her any of this, but what is a good excuse not to show up.

Shouldn't it be from the heart? Not the room to through a bridal shower? The closeness you have. And if you choice not be in the wedding because you were first choosen to be the maid of honor and are being replaced because shower, isn't being no longer friends horrible? How would you feel if you were told to switch to a bride'smaid because of the shower?

A close friend of mine is soon to be gettin married. W've been friends for ever & even before the engagement it was planned me to be her maid of honor. Now she wasnts me a bridesmaid to switch places because of the bridalshower. She says shell do all this sh!t & she gets a tiny discount @ a grocerystore. Weve been friends since '91 in 1st gr.& been through tons of sh!t together. She lied @ first because of another bridesmaid not knowin what to do & me walkin w/ her. Shouldnt the heart come first? I already made a sample invintation on Microsoft Paint & I added a pic I took for them. I let her live w/ me secretly for a mnth & she owes me $60. I let her use my desktop for assignments she had in writing last semester. I let her use my desktop music site I have for them to download music for the wedding. I burnt the songs & downloaded them on my laptop thats @ their place now. She said if I dont switch well say bye to our friendship. I said ok angrly & hung up. Whats right?

I am a bridesmaid in my best-friends wedding to be in July 07, I am going Monday to be measuered for my dress, but as part of my new years resolution I am successfully losing weight for a goal that will have me about 2 dress sizes smaller.... should I mention that to the bridal house? Also when they actually have the dress would such a difference cause a big ordeal? Also I was wanting to know some customary things a bridesmaid (not maid of honor who is also her sister) does for the bride. Thanks so much!! :)

My longtime boyfriend and I have discussed getting married for some time now. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and we are so happy together....just on problem, somehow he got on the topic of how he was going to have a hard time picking a best man and groomsmen because he has a lot of good friends and three brothers. This got me thinking about who I would pick, here's the problem, I don't have close friends really because I have a hard time getting close to people. I couldn't think of anyone that I am close enough to to ask them to be in my wedding party. Now I'm panicing and I can't stop worrying about the situation. I have no idea what to do, granted we aren't planning on getting married for a couple of years, still it's really bothering me! Any advice...........?

My wedding plans with my fiancee keep changing, mainly because there is so much going on in our families this year. Initially, we were supposed to go to city hall with our parents this November and then have a bigger ceremony in a year. But, my brother, who is in Iraq, will be coming home in April and we're not sure when he'll be back again. I want him to be there to see me get married, so my fiancee and I decided to move the city hall wedding up to April. However, his parents won't be able to join us. They live in the south and their daughter is having a baby around that same time. So, to include them in our plans, we are planning to fly out and stay with them the weekend we get married. Do you think they will be upset that they weren't at the ceremony even though it is only at city hall?

I should add that we are no longer having the second ceremony because my fiancee thinks it will be a waste of money since we will already be married and we are on a very tight budget.

Last week when I went bridesmaid dress shopping with my party, my soon to be Mother-in-Law found a very nice dress that allows you to pick color options. It's a two piece dress and she wanted to get the black skirt with an ivory top (the ivory should practically be white, it's not ivory at all)...my bridesmaids, mother and the dress shop owner all jumped in and said that this would not be appropiate...come to find out she purchased it today! I am fuming! what should I do? Stay quiet or speak up?

Recently broke up with fiance. Met him after his divorce from 12yr marraige & became great friends. Knew he was interested in me but wouldn't date him for a yr. After 6 mo of dating he proposed. He's extremely successful, spoils me, compliments me constantly, has dinner waiting every night, rubs my feet daily & drops everything to always be with me. But when he's mad he tells me I'm a worthless piece of sh1t & points aggressively in my face. He's even poured a glass of water on me-- he was mad & couldn't sleep so neither could I. He gets jealous easy or mad if I want to spend anytime apart. We split when my brother witnessed the verbal abuse 1 night & called the cops. He says he had past issues of distrust & has come to terms with it now after 2 mo. I'm "the love of his life" and he'll do anything to make it work. I've been seeing him once in awhile, but family/friends don't approve- say he's too controlling. When with him I have second thoughts. When apart I rationalize it could work.

I'm 19 years old, my fiancé is 21. We're not planning for a wedding until 2009, at which time I will be 22 and he will be 24. My mom has been hounding me and telling me I need to get my act together. She keeps telling me you can't have a wedding for a small amount of money. She keeps treating me like dirt telling me how immature and irresponsible I am. Am I too young? Is there a set age for getting married? Should you not get married when you've found the one you love and that you know he will treat you like a princess? Also, my fiancé is from the states, but I'm from Canada, and we're struggling with the decision as to where to get married. I know tradition says you should get married where the bride lives, but any suggestions how to make it work so both families can participate in our joyous day?

I've found a wedding dress I really love, but it's a rosey-pink hue. I never thought I'd want a pink wedding dress, but I really love how it looks on me. My mom really doesn't like the idea of getting married in anything but white, but she hasn't seen me in it either. I agree with her somewhat, because I'm kind of going for more of a traditional wedding style, but the pink dress is so hard to let go of. I'd be a little worried about what people might think if I wore pink, but I look so good in it. What does everyone think? Should I go with boring traditional white, or risk what people might say and go with pink?

I plan on having four bridesmaids for my wedding but they are all "busty" and I want them to look nice for the wedding, what are some flattering styles of dresses that will look nice on them? I don't want anything real clingy because a couple of them are "hippy" also. And where can I find them/what are some websites I can look at? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

He is catholic and I am not. I don't want to become catholic but he and his family would like us to be blessed by a priest. I have no problem with this since it is his family traditions to do so. what would I have to do if anything to have a priest bless the union without me having to convert? I don't want to make promises to any religion I don't truly agree with. the blessing is to me well wishes on your marraige and not anything else. So How do we compromise and get the best of both worlds?

Hi we are getting married this year and we have changed our wedding date to 2:00pm the thing is i just thought of today that my mother in law to be is a keen drinker and when she gets drunk she is very loud and tends to get drunk and end up in a sorry full and depressed state and the im usually in the fireing line when she gets this way. Orginally the wedding was a 11:00am and on a usual day she will still be in bed so this doesnt give her chance to get to the pub, you can say she is sort of an alcoholic as she cant do with a drink and is in the pub everyday and till the night and she sleeps all day, but no one can do out about it, She even came to her daughters bridemaid dress choosing drunk as you could smell it on her and she is more forward. Im just worried she will turn up to the wedding as she will be able so squeeze a few drinks in before 2:00pm and there is people going to the wedding she doesnt get on with and like i say when she has a drink she has her say.

I have looked all over the web for a Platinum mans ring with a ruby stone. I know it sounds a little weird but hey... everyone liked different things.

The reason I'm asking is because I plan to propose to my boyfriend this coming June. Its not really an engadgment >spelling< though seeing as how gay marriage is not legal yet. Although I want to make my comitment to him.

Any info on this matter would be great. When it comes to rings and any sort of jewlery really I suck at finding anything.

THANK YOU!!

p.s. spare me the "gay" remarks. I'll report you!
