When the brides groom is walking down the wedding aisle, she can throw gold coins instead of flowers/ petals.

Hire a Jack Sparrow impersonator to come and entertain guests... on second thought... that could go either way.

Alter your attire to fit a more pirated theme, such as wearing an eye patch or something similar to that.

For the refreshments, you could serve pirate-themed foods that you think they might drink/ eat... maybe even rum...

I'm not really sure... just let your mind go wild. I hope these spark some ideas for you.

Go to the web site for The oriental trading company, click on wedding favors. They have chocolate coins in gold and/or silver wrappers. They also have bead necklaces and gem rings under the Mardi Gras section(pirates loved their treasure). These would be good favors for the reception. Do a nautical theme. Your colors should be darker/bold (no pastels for pirates). Think a moonlit ceremony (pirates were more active @ night) along a pond/lake/beach (for obvious reasons) with a tealight lit path to walk down barefoot, in a soft flowing dress. Sounds romantic!!! Good Luck!!

Let's see here...you'll obviously need daggers and swords which I believe you can get from the toy section of almost any dollar store. the pirate attire you could acquire from a local costume shop. bandannas in all colors can be found at Michael's or Jo-Ann fabrics. Depending on the formality of you reception you could use boats as centerpieces with table #s painted on the sails. Oh...make your dad point a sword in your back down the aisle and your fiance' give your dad a bag full of what looks like coins (make them the chocolate coins) kinda like a dowry (sp?). I would watch some old pirate movies to get more ideas, but that's all I've got without doin a bunch of research. Good Luck and be creative! You've already got the basics with the theme :D!

Instead of releasing of the doves at the end you can release the parrots. Under your gown you can wear buckled boots and have a sheath in your garter. You might even be able to find white high thigh boots. The groom could wear a pirate inspired hat, and perhaps you could find or make a white version of one. Instead of a money tree you could have a teasure chest that people could put their money gifts in. You could do a reel for the first dance, as that was a popular thing back then. Bags of dabloons or chocolate coins could be used as guest favors. Good luck, sounds like fun.

You should get married on like a cruise ship or a boat, and have it decked out and themed according to your colors. Also have everyone dress up in like pirate outfits!

It's your wedding and should be however you want it. If you need ideas on how to have a pirate themed wedding, you could consult a wedding planner and they could assist you with that. Good luck and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Seriously....Find a Costume shop where you can rent your attire. You can find an outdoor location near water whether it is a rather large lake or beach. You can create you invites on tattered paper such as a treasure map with the X marking the spot of the location. If you would like you can email me at agbridal@yahoo.com I have lots more Ideas.

Carry a pirates hat of flowers, and walk the plank instead of the aisle.
