How did you guys managed to work thing out, and was it a factor of tension between you? If you eventually got together, did the families got along well or were the others always "the snobs" or "the dire straits"?

My brother in law is getting married soon. My husband and girls are in the wedding, I am not (thank goodness). Apparently, my girls will be going with my mother in law to get dressed & have their hair done on the day of the wedding at my future sister in-laws sisters house. I am not invited. Does this make sense to anyone? I am the mother of these young girls, I think I should be there while they are getting ready. Help!

My mother already paid for the reception and honeymoon; but now she says I have to buy the dress, flowers and some of the decorations myself. The wedding is on April 1st so my budget is only at $600 with my tax return. Because there are so many risks, I would rather not ebay it, is there anything to help save money without looking like a trashy wedding??

I am getting married this July. The bridesmaids are wearing navy blue dresses and the groomsmen are wearing navy blue vests. The reception room has beige chairs, white tablecloths, and a patterned navy blue/mauve carpet. I would like to know why kinds of flowers and colors of flowers I could have for the bouquets, as well as what colors and types of flowers would work best in that room. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here's the deal flowers are expensive and die in a few days so I don't see the point in spending hundreds of dollars on real ones. I got real flowers for the alter and my bouquet but I plan to get fake ones for the wedding party. What do you guys think?

the big question!

I'm pretty much a regular Joe, not rich, not broke, with a decent job in the IT industry. How much cash should I splash?

I'm in my late 20s and my bf of 1 year just pass 30. When during the wooing stage, he told me he's going thru divorce proceed with his ex-wife. And he has to pay to several banks monthly for the loan for their house. Which means to say he's left with less than half of his pay after every montly payment. I've kept his financial problems from my family. And i've been paying for our expenses, i don't get presents for b'day, christmas, valentine's. We recently just bought a weekend car which we agreed on spilting it. Now that bank is going to deduct thru giro ( my bank ) and he's always no money, i won't have to heart to ask him for it. He says marriage in 1-2 years time, i'm happy no doubt. But would i end up be paying for everything for my wedding. All these are wearing me out and i hardly have much to spend on myself...

What is a good size ring to get my fiancee? I'm not rich, but not too poor, either. My fiancee comes from a wealthy family.

Also, I noticed that the expensive shops sell rings with the same no. of carats at a higher price and they tell me the clarity is better and it's a better cut. Is that important? I always hear people talking about the size of the diamond as the main factor.

Please help me out!!

I've always been amazed that girls get so caught up in the whole wedding thing.

Did you have a happy childhood?

What made you believe that your wedding day would be so happy?

Are you a hopeless romantic?

I am just curious ... this is from a different viewpoint, please answer honeslty..

getting married at the end of this year. And im so happy for them, but Im alittle unhappy about their choices. You see i dont have any sisters, nor do i have any girl cousins. I always wanted my godmother who is young and hip to be my maid of honour. Im also one of those girls who wanted a princess wedding with a pink theme. Anyways make a long story short, my cousins gf who has 2 sisters and endless amounts of female friends and cousins asked my godmother to be her maid of honour, and her wedding theme is a pink and brown princess theme. I dont mean to be bothered by it, but I am, now I feel if i do what i always wanted to do i am copying her...am i right?what should I do?

Both of our mothers want us to have a traditional wedding so I want to do things to compromise that we are going away to get married.

I plan to take my mother with me to pick out my dress, and let her do some decorations for a very INFORMAL reception when we come back.

What can I do with my mother-in-law so that she will feel included?

Ok. Here's my question, I'm from the Midwest US, and my brother recently moved to Melbourne, Australia and then up and found his bride, so now they're getting married and I'm going to be the best man, which is good.

If this was up here, I have a good idea what would probably work, but what passes for a REALLY good bachelor/bucks party down in Australia - BTW, I've never been there so I've got no clue about customs etc - my knowledge is pretty much limited to that I know it's called a bucks party rather than a bachelor's party and I'm aware that for a price most everything physical is legal.
Also, our father and her stepdad will want to attend

A cousin of mine was like , "Food, Booze and Hot Women" what else do you need, my future brothers in-laws (who seem a little ...domesticated) and were actually suggesting Golf and Maybe Booze but no Women? We're all in our mid 30's.

Don't get me wrong, my future mother in law is a sweet heart, but she is currently planning my Bridal Shower and she isn't allowing anyone (my mother & bridesmaids) get involved. My mother, her, and his sister are all helping pay but she is being stubborn and wants everything to go the way she wants it to no matter what I (the bride) or my mom is suggesting. My groom, naturally, is taking his mother's side on this....what can I do to help my stress and nicely find a way to tell her that everyone needs to be involved and she needs to stop being so controling? Helpful answers need only apply. Thank you!

Do you think this bride is real or do you think it's a set up. If it's real, then she is so not ready to get married!

I have a good friendly circle and some of us are friends since our school days. All my friends are really nice and sweet but somehow my dad has poor impression about couple of my friends and i feel it is a totally false impression and they are not xactly how my dad thinks about them. I have tried to explain this to my dad several times but he won't listen. So my dad is very adamant about not inviting them over on my wedding. Come to think of it guys...my wedding n my friends with whom i have had a great relationship since years and i am asked not to invite them. What will my friends think and what am i suppose to do????? I am so CONFUSED about this whole situation.
