Ok I'm having a hard time finding a wedding gown. I've been to several different places tryin on gowns. Yet I haven't picked one out yet. So I want to know, how do you know when you have found that perfect gown?

When you try it on, look in the mirror and feel like Cinderella. That's when you know you have the right gown. Keep looking. Don't narrow your search to what you "think" will look best, try different ones. Also, from experience...wedding gowns look totally different when on a person and a hanger, meaning you don't always get a good sense of what the gown really looks like til you try it on. I mean you can have a general idea, such as long sleeves, sleeveless, beaded, not beaded, etc... but don't disregard a dress that, for the most part fits your criteria but doesn't hang well on the hanger.
You don't say when you're getting married but if you're looking, you probably have time to look some more.
Be patient. Good luck!
And to tell you the truth, I've been married over 20 years and my gown really didn't turn out to be all that important, in the big picture..

I went to six different places, HOURS at each place. When I went in I told them I just wanted a plain, simple dress. No ruffles, beads, bows. Had to have straps and no sweeping train. When I went into the last place, the woman who runs it is also a seamstress. She's old and speaks her mind. I told her what I was looking for, she said "okay" and picked some out. Then she said, will you try something on for me? Sure, why not; I hadn't had any luck so far. She put it on and....."HALLELUJAH" OF course, it is strapless and COVERED in beads and jewels on the bodice, cathedral length train, satin, lace, corset, and EVERYTHING else I said I didn't want.

Go to a place that is a small boutique. Somewhere that has been established for years. And trust the people working there. They've seen enough to know what looks good.

So, to answer the question, when you find the right gown you JUST KNOW.

I knew I had found my gown when, even though I was still trying beautiful dresses on, all I could think of was putting "the one" on again. I would think about it at random times and realize how great it made me feel. It was not the type of situation where I came out of the dressing room and said "That's it. I'm done looking. This is the one." I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I still love it and can't wait to wear it this June!!!
Good luck, you'll find something great!

HI, OK the way i find the perfect dress was i tried on EVERY kind of dress that i could i took my mum and my future mother in law with me and first i looked at the kind of sleeves i would normally wear for the season, then start there, i LOVE medieval type stuff so i started there too and when i found the right one it felt nice on (coz you are in it a LONG TIME) the dress moved how i wanted it too, and it was just perfect.... Unfortunately i ended up being 6 mths pregnant and couldn't wear the darn dress any way... But that's how i chose it too start with.
Hope this helps you
Good luck

Well i am in a similiar position right now. The more you look the more confuse you become. So what you need to do is decide what are your likes and dislikes, tune into your personal fashion sense, and choose a gown that you feel comfortable with and reflects your personal style. Trust me when you find the right one, you will know.

u will find the perfect gown if u look great in it, when u are fine, comfortable with.

how many times will u wear a wedding gown? about once in your life! u don't have to wear it all your life so, choose a pretty but not too expensive one.

I know this isn't the best answer, but you just know.

When I tried my wedding dress on, I didn't want to take it off. I tried other gowns on after it, but I couldn't get them off quick enough, even though they were pretty dresses.

Good luck.

you know when you try it on and you are at loss for words, you just want to stare in the mirror and never stop. Its when you see yourself looking so perfect that you can just imagine yourself walking down that asile in nothing else but this. Try on different styles, for instance even if the dress isnt what your looking for try on the styles like ballroom gown, mermaid, strapless, off the shoulder, halter, long, short...ect.. Than pick out what you like and what you dont like, than once you see the things you do like than tell the owner of the stores excatly what your looking for and they will show you the collections in that area. Or look for dresses that suit what your looking for on the internet than print it out and show the owner.

I know this will sound funny, but you will just know! You'll look in the mirror and you will see that fantasy bride image you've had in your head since you were little.... I tried on 27 dresses in one day, and went back to buy the first one I had tried on. I knew it was the one when I put it on, but I wanted to be sure... my best friend just got married, and we were down to deciding between 2 "perfect" dresses when she called from TJ Maxx to tell me she had just found THE dress - on the clearance rack for under $100.

Don't give up, and don't settle. Be willing to try more unusual places (like TJ Maxx, for example). You'll find it ----

I tried on a bunch of dresses, and just knew when i found mine. I don't know how to explain it. My sister chose the dress off the rack (i bought at David's....much cheaper than other shops). I didn't even like it when i saw it on the hanger, but when i tried it on it was right. I guess it was when i started comparing every other dress i tried on the the one i bought that i realized i had chosen my dress. Good luck and have fun!!
