To my understanding, the catholic church punishes you for about one year if you get married by the justice of the peace before they will marry you. My best advice is to talk to your local priest for the exact information.

Eloping for Valentine's Day is a wonderful romantic idea.

Sincerely wishing you a wonderful marriage...

Yes, getting married in a catholic church is just for asking blessing from God to guide you in your marriage. I know getting married in a church is more expensive than the justice of peace and if you love each other , its much more important than getting married on both.

Go talk to a priest :)

We are getting married in less than 2 months in a Catholic church. The answer you want is the answer that will hold, that of someone who truly knows.....

Call the church, make an appointment...there lies your answer :)

the customs is to conduct the church wedding in your own parish,

You have to attend a pre-marital course for several months

You cannot just pop in and ask to be married the next day

That is what my sister in law said, but if you have a specific church you want to be married in then I would ask a pastor and still get premarital NOW, other wise they might not let you marry in their church because you two didn't get counseling.

yes, in some parishes but I have heard that sometimes the priest will not do the wedding mass...just a wedding blessing ceremony
