I want to plan my wedding but he's not sure when he's going to deploy. I don't want to have my whole wedding planed out and then have him leave me with all the planning, resurvations and money gone to waste.

The best way to deal with this is to either have a small wedding before he leaves and then a big reception when he gets back, or wait until he gets back.

If you decide to do it before he leaves, make sure he'll have enough time to get all his paperwork processed so you'll be eligible for your benefits. If you decide to wait until he gets back, give him some time to readjust to being home before you have a big shindig.

Keep in mind that deployment (especially to Iraq/Afghanistan) can change people and he may not be the same person when he gets back. I live in a large military community and I've seen this happen over and over again.

My sister is in a smiliar situation as you are. Her husband has been told he's going to deploy but they keep changing the date. He was told a year ago that he was going to go in Oct/Nov 2006, then it was changed to Oct/Nov 2007. Now they're saying it will be Apr/May 2007.

Cut back on the plans and have the wedding as soon as you can than you can at lease enjoy it before he deploys Congratulations and Best of luck

Then have a simple wedding in City Hall, and when he's done with military service you can have a big huge wedding ceremony with him there to help you plan.
