I love my b/f and I don't want to be with anyone else and I can't imagine being with another man. i am 23 and he is 27 we have been together 3 1/2 years (today actually is our 3 1/2 year anniversary0. We have a 2 1/2 year old son, we have been through hell and high water. I know he wants to marry me but I can't figure out why he hasn't propsed to me. So if I proposed to him I know he would accept. Do women propose to me? Would I put a ring on his finger or would I go get a ring for my self and after I ask him have him slip the ring on my finger? How would the ring thing work?

I'm interested in getting married on the beach but I don't want the whole ceremony. Just the Groom, me and my parents. Any suggestions?

I am standing up for my girlfriend on July 22nd. I am also a university student, and she is marrying a professional hockey player (in the NHL). I feel as though this wedding is WAY beyond my spending limits, as I still have another year of university to pay for. I would like to know what is the proper ettiquette for wedding gifts in this situation, as I have already purchased a shower gift. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also: what is required of me to contribute in regards to the pre-wedding social? Am I supposed to put in a prize for the chinese auction, or is that optional? (Thank you!)

Hi, I know some people have asked this question before, but I just need some clarity, what exactly does it mean when someone "loves you", as apposed to someone not being "in love with you"? whats the difference which is more important, which hurts less?

Can someone please answer these questions for me - because I am really confused...
1.Why is a "traditional wedding held in a church? 2.Why is it considered "respectful" to wear a dress to a wedding/funeral? 3.Where do these things come from? 4. Who declared them as traditional? 5. Why do people think you are insane if you are not within the "norm" of "tradition?"

In other words, they didn't celebrate the day with us nor did they send a gift. So, is a thank you card appropriate for a "congratulations on getting married" card (with no gift in the card other than good wishes)?

I'm 17. I just got engaged and I still have a year left of high school. I don't plan on getting married until I'm like 21. My dad's girlfriend keeps planning out my wedding, and she was planning my boyfriends life. Telling him that they're going to open a shop together and I'm going to do all the paper work. I really don't want want her help but I don't know how to tell her. She loves to help when no one really needs help. I hate when people help me without me asking them too. I want to do this planning on my own because I want things the way I want them! It's my wedding!

I'm a 26 year old engineer, and have been paying off my mortgage for 3 years now. I've paid almost half of my mortage off and have significant mutal funds.

I have a serious g/f and we talk about the future all the time and I'm sure it will lead to marriage. I do love her with all my heart, but I must insist on a prenup. It's not that I don't trust her; I want to spend the rest of my life with her and I absolutely adore her, and she feels the same for me.

My prenup isn't saying "i expect this to end in divorce" because i hope I never have to exercise it. I hope we sign it and its found by our children after we die of old age. But girls get so offended by prenups...it's crazy.

I've worked really hard to get where I am today and am building a very solid financial structure to secure myself for the future. I don't think it's unfair to try and not jeapordize myself in the event that she has a change of heart in 10 years and wants to leave with more than she has invested.

My son is getting married and I was told as his mother in the book they bought that I am to take care of the rehearsal dinner. I was informed last night there wasnt going to be a rehearsal but I would now be responsible for the reception. What is up with this? I am also taking care of the flowers for the alter. I thought this stuff was for the bride's family not the grooms.

I'm going to a wedding on Friday for a close friend “Ann” from high school. In college, she had introduced me to a girl I dated for a few months “Susie”. It was an "intimate" relationship. Needless to say, I was not such a nice guy and dumped her mostly because I thought I could find someone better. But, I dumped her over the phone rather than in person and haven't spoken to her since. That was about 4 years ago.

I doubt it's that big of a deal, but I know today that Susie’s bringing some fiancee she’s getting married to soon. I’m a little concerned at being depressed and alone -- I have yet to find a date even though I’m working on it. The wedding is on a weekday and it’s 8 hours away. I’m trying to get a hold of an old classmate who lives in the town of the wedding to go with me. I think it’s important to find a date because the only two people I know at the wedding are IN the wedding, so I’ll probably be alone most of th
