We have known each other for over a year and half. He is from another country and back home to visit his mother and family. I have not told my mother yet about the wedding because she will go off on me and say that he will not be allowed in her house. She did this to my last fiance and was so mean to him that he could not take it and left. My mother has never met my fiance because I did not want to start a family fued. She has not met him but yet she does not like him. The other thing is I am not getting married in the catholic church. I am having my wedding in a non denomination church. My sister was told that when she got married if it was not in a catholic church my mother would not attend. My father is dead, so he wont be there. My mom will do what ever she can to stop this wedding and ruin it for me. What should I do. I love this man. My brother and sister wont be there because they have to do what mommy saids..........

I am getting married soon and we have decided to do it at the courthouse and have a party afterwards. This way the ceremony is just us but our family can participate too. I need party ideas such as food, location, invitations, party favors, etc. . . I have never planned a party much less my wedding celebration.

His mom is planning EVERYTHING, and I want the wedding to be how I want it. She picked the church, and I want it at our family church, but now he has his mind set on the one she picked and wont agree with me, the ONLY thing (besides making the wedding how SHE want it) shes helping with is food which she is making herself to save $, and she said shed help with whatever MY parents didnt get. Im trying to plan it how i want it to be and compromise whit things he doesnt like, but its so hard with his mom making decisions for us....what can i do to make him hear ME out? (ive tried to talk to him, but his mom still wins...) and his mo helps out alot when we need $ to make it by or whatnot but this is MY wedding...

I only have 5 days left until my wedding and I think I want to back out.

I have been racked with doubt and a feeling of uneasiness for the past month. At first I thought it might simply be a case of cold feet that would go away but now I think there maybe other more fundamental issues that haven't been resolved yet.

Mainly which country to live in and when to have children. We both seem to be unwilling to compromise. I'm wondering if these are the reasons I am so upset at night.

My friends & family and her friends & family all have their flight tickets, their bags backed, (some are in the air as I type) Meanwhile the hotels, church, caterers, planners, reception etc. has all been prepared and I really feel a strong sense of responsibility to go through with this wedding.

I feel awful considering calling it off but I’m not sure I can go through with it.

How can I tell if my marriage worries are simply cold feet or an instinctual intuition of something I shouldn't do?
