I am currently trying to plan my wedding, and we have a very tight budget-no help from the parents, that type of thing. I am going crazy. Can someone give me some ideas on how to pull it off?I think we arejust going to go to the courthouse, and have a reception somewhere. But I am clueless! And I am getting very depressed. I am starting to wonder if I will even have a wedding dress! Can someone tell me the cheapest way to have a nice wedding, or at least a reception?

We will be putting on the invites that we're serving just desserts & champagne at the reception. We'll also serve beer & wine, coffee & non-alcoholic drinks. My mom thinks we should have savory appetizers as well, like veggie trays & cheese, but I think this is tacky, especially if we get them from a grocery store. I think desserts & champagne is classy. We're on a low budget, so it's the best option for us, but I'm still afraid people will want a full meal, since the reception is around dinner time. Will people know to eat before the wedding if we put it on the invite?

My boyfriend of over 3 years was asked by his attractive female co-worker to go to a wedding as her 'date'.....I feel insulted that he would even consider going with her especially since I'm not even sure if she knows I exist...
He thinks that he should be able to go since I'm attending a wedding without him in August. I say that it's not the same, since the bride at the wedding I'm invited to is his ex-girlfriend who he cheated on! I wouldn't want my ex at my wedding either unless we were friends and other 'attached' people are going to this wedding without their significant other, since the bride and groom want to keep their guest list as short as possible (they already have over 200 guests, mostly the groom's large family).
If you were in a serious (you live together) relationship with your significant other and they were asked by their co-worker or casual friend to attend a wedding as a 'date' how would you react?
Lets say you knew that this co-worker/friend was attractive but you had never been introduced to them and you aren't even 100% sure that they know you exist.
Would you allow your boyfriend/girlfriend to go to the wedding as this person's date? If not, what reason would you give?

She's a drama queen. Everytime I do anything regarding the wedding, she calls me or writes me to tell me Im in the wrong. She has no regard to how she says things and no regard to how things really are, she even makes things up. On top of it, she sends what she feels is going on to my soon to be husband; who is in the service and has no control over anything and will only worry. The latest issue is over bridesmaids regarding dresses. Her daughter and I had gone to David's Bridal together a few months back and picked them out together. When I went back yesterday to purchase my sisters and my maid of honors (whose my best friend), the dresses were no longer available for order and are dicontinued. I purchased the only 2 they had left, both dresses were the perfect size for my sister and my best friend. When I got home, I called her to ask if she would mind if I asked her to not be in the wedding due to the dress being no longer available. Her mom freaked and left nasty messages to me.

I want to get married as soon as possible. We are going to the bahamas for a weddingmoon and we want to get married in the last week in March. We are waiting for our house to sell to have the money to get married. If the house sells soon, do you think I should try to get it to where we can get married this coming march or do you think we should take it slow and wait until 2008? I'm just not sure when I should get the dress I want - I have a pretty good Idea what I want, but if we're going to get married in 2008, I myswell wait to see if anything new comes out, but on the other hand if we can get married in 2007, I'd love to. We want to go to Sandals in the bahamas, so the only things we need to worry about is my dress and the reservations. It will just be him and I going (unless a few family members want to come down just for the wedding, but that's not a priority)...What should I do?
