I want to get married as soon as possible. We are going to the bahamas for a weddingmoon and we want to get married in the last week in March. We are waiting for our house to sell to have the money to get married. If the house sells soon, do you think I should try to get it to where we can get married this coming march or do you think we should take it slow and wait until 2008? I'm just not sure when I should get the dress I want - I have a pretty good Idea what I want, but if we're going to get married in 2008, I myswell wait to see if anything new comes out, but on the other hand if we can get married in 2007, I'd love to. We want to go to Sandals in the bahamas, so the only things we need to worry about is my dress and the reservations. It will just be him and I going (unless a few family members want to come down just for the wedding, but that's not a priority)...What should I do?

I have no doubts whatsoever, I just don't know whether to rush it or not - I want it as soon as possible. I can't wait to start a new chapter in our lives.

We are not selling our house to get married. The house is a duplex and the apartment is not rented out. We are selling it so we don't have to deal with the rental, so we can just get something that fits us, and so we can move closer to family.

I also want to know your opinion, my fiance is leaving everything up to me - he just told me to tell him where to be and when!

you can always make the airline tickets at any time and on the house wait for the house to sell and on the dress get the dress and that way you have it because if you wait you wont be able to get the dress when you want to but wait on the alterations until your ready if needed.

I also remember this question with a little different wording the first time. I personally don't care for the idea of waiting to get married until we have the money to have a wedding. If you want to get married ASAP as you said, then why wait? Is it that you want to have this wedding ASAP or get married ASAP. That's two different things to me.

If you don't have the money now to move forward with planning the trip, then I wouldn't go out and buy things that I would not be needing for another two years. I would wait until the house sells before purchasing or reserving anything. You aren't going to be able to plan the trip without having the money first, there are no guarantees with the house selling fast, you should just wait....just continue to pull your ideas together.

You asked this question the other day, except the first time you wrote it, you said your fiancee was getting cold feet and stalling on marrying you because he didn't have enough money to pay for your wedding in the Bahamas. Nice rewording but I clearly remember it! You said you were hoping the house sold so you could use that money to put towards the wedding, except your husband didn't want to talk about it and was brushing you off. I guess you didn't like the answers you originally received. Well, I'll say it again - this guy isn't the one if he's backing out on you now...and he'll do it again - probably after you're married and with kids to worry about. If a guy wants to do something, he does it...you can keep pushing the date back but it doesn't change the obvious. There - confusion ended.

Well, good for you for going to Sandals. We got married at a Beaches in Turks and Caicos and I wouldn't have traded the experience for anything. Loved it. They handled everything.

But, I'd encourage you to think about a couple of things:

1. The dress isn't the marriage.
2. If you have to wait until you sell the house in order to have enough money to get married... you don't have enough money. If finances are that tight, then wait until 2008.

Good luck and best wishes!

This all is completely up to you and your fiance. Are you ready to get married? Do you need to save more money?
I bought my wedding dress 2 years before getting married it was the perfect dress and still looked great on me! If the two of you are ready, and if you have the money then go for it. Just remember that the reservations book up pretty quickly!

Sounds like this is all about how to spend the money. Sell the house, going to the Bahamas, the reservations, the dress. Take your time - plan well - don't rush it - it will all fall into place.

Do what feels right. Make sure it fits your budget. If you really want to do the Bahamas thing, wait till the funds are right. If you can afford it now, do it. If not, wait till you can. Don't sacrifice your dreams. You only get married once. Your relationship can last. If you think it can't what makes you think adding the stress of marriage will strengthen it?

Also talk to your fiance. Although I think you posted a question earlier pertaining to his lack of willingness to make decisions. If I remember right.

I think it would be a good idea to wait until 2008 if you think you need more time for anything that you have doubts about. But if you think that this is the best time to do it, then do what you feel is right. But personally from my eyeview, i think you should find a place to live and then get the money oince you are settled. But i cannot tell you what to do. I hope for the best for you.

You know what, I think is not a good idea to spend the money of your house on a wedding. That money is an inversion and you should buy another house with it. I know that a wedding and a honeymoon sounds great, but what about your future. Instead of selling your house, refinance it and with that money you plan your wedding and your honeymoon. Just an opinion

Plan on 2008 just to make sure you have everything the way you want it. As for dresses, check out Dreams by Renee. They have some absolutely gorgeous dresses and are able to do custom work as well.

i think you should sit down with your boyfriend, and see how he feels about all of this too. It takes two to get married, so you both need to be on the same page with all of this. My advice is to just make sure whatever you choose, make sure you have time to do everything exactly how you want it. After all, your only supposed to get married once.

best wishes and good luck!!!!
