I'm actually writing a book on the subject, so here's my take on it. There are no set rules for a Gothic wedding, its whatever the couple wants it to be. But most follow a familiar pattern: a ceremony officiated by a clergy member or legal authority, a legally binding exchange of vows, then a reception to celebrate, eat, and dance. The difference is in the details. Often the place of the ceremony & reception has a gothic feel to it and is emphasised by flowers and/or decorations. The ceremony may be held in a place of worship, or not, and sometimes represent less common religious beliefs. The bride tends not to wear white (I wore red and black myself) and the color schem can be black or dark. Sometimes couples go all out and make it a Halloween like party, while others just put a little goth twist on it.

A gothic wedding is basically like a regular wedding only with darker colors and more black. Most people regard a Holloween themed wedding as gothic as well.

A gothic wedding is like no other wedding, just the theme and attire is different. Some people dont like it, only because its not whats considered normal. I think they are cool.

by ability of "Gothic" do you mean the completed physique-piercing, black lipstick and leather-based bustier factor? there is not something captivating approximately "goth" Its finished purpose is to "marvel" us old human beings. Honey enable me inform you - there is not lots i haven't seen that shocks me - or a lot of "my era" to any extent further. in case you rather insist on dealing with with that - how approximately scheduling a hour of darkness showing of Creepshow (a cult classic) or Wizards (an excellent better cult classic) at a interior of sight action picture coach. carry the marriage ceremony interior the foyer, and supply genuinely everyone a $ cut back on snacks from the concession stand... Oh, yet evaluate a white leather-based bustier and chaps - as a replace of the classic black. and perchance gold studs as a replace of silver. yet that's as much as you. OR do you mean some thing greater like Eleanore of Aquitaine? wherein the robes are attractive - you're transforming into a medieval dinner celebration, and a tourney on your honor, etc. touch the interior of sight financial ruin of the Society for ingenious Anachronisms for help.

Basically, a gothic wedding is cheap, tacky, and a freak show. It usually ends in divorce once the "gothic" phase passes. I think it is sad the way people degrade marriage, but I'm not surprised. Society today is a mess.

My son had a Hallowedding and it was such fun. They are both goths, but were still able to find a minister to marry them. They used a lot of high Victoriana motifs - color scheme was dove gray, midnight blue and heather. It was beautiful. My son wore a poet's shirt, and she wore a Victorian style dress. Reception was a blast. We served pizza, white chocolate cake and dark chocolate cake with strawberries. It was loads and fun - not stuffy and afterwards we went to several haunted houses. FUN!
