Of course you can. Just do it before you leave.

Sure you can! The only question here is "who is throwing the party?" Bridal showers are organized by someone other than the bride for a particular group of friends (or now-a-days, coworkers) of the bride to celebrate HER specifically, not just the marriage.
Now, if this is a party you want to throw for yourself and you aren't having any sort of reception a couple weeks after Vegas, you could throw a "wedding shower." This would allow people to feel like a part of things, but be warned - these aren't usually a "girls only" thing and the point is to celebrate the couple and their engagement / marriage.

I find bridal showers to be very tacky and would never go to one nor did I have one. You already get gifts at the wedding so having a bridal shower is basically just a way to get gifts. Its even worse since your not inviting these people to the wedding. They should not feel obligated to get you gifts. If you do choose to have one though then I suggest you dont plan it yourself because thats even more tacky. Let a friend plan it if they want to be a part of the greediness. I would suggest having a party either just before you go, or after you get back to celebrate the wedding and that way guys can come too. If people want to give a gift then they can, but they wont feel obligated to do so.

Well, you know that traditionally, you don't throw yourself a bridal shower, since the purpose of the shower is to "shower" the bride with gifts. Typically the bridesmaids throw the shower. But I see no reason why you can't have a bridal shower, even if you are going to Vegas, it would be a great way to include people who won't be able to go to your wedding. Just have someone else host...

Girl its your wedding you can do anything your little heart wants to do. Have you ever seen the show bridezillas? Your the boss of your wedding. So what if it is cheap in Vegas Nevada It still is a wedding. Just don't do what that Britney Spears did the next day and get a divorce. Take it seriously and not like the rest of the Hollywood Stars do. P.S. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT AND UP COMING WEDDING.

We are having a small wedding with just immediate family and I asked a similar question on a message board (on a infamous wedding website) and they all attacked me like I was a gift grubber. If you honestly want to spend time with friends and family to share in your joy, then I see nothing wrong with it. I was shocked at the reponse some have to this. Otherwise, if it is about the gifts then that's on you, but most family want to get you something when you get married, regardless of how you do it.
