I didn't. I asked my partner to marry me and he said "Yes, but let's wait 6 months to make sure before we tell anyone." I said, sure. What's 6 months really? Turned out fine. I think when a woman asks a man it's less pressure because women are not obligated to by expensive rings and beg (on one knee). I think the traditional proposal is too much pressure for women because it's not true that every woman is dreaming about marriage. In fact, a lot of women these days don't even want it. Perhaps women should start asking men for marriage more often.

The only reason for this tradition that I can think of occured when women were dependent on men and needed them to survive, so instead of chasing men for their oh so 'natural' provider skills (haha!), men had to ask women or it was demeaning. Not so much now that we know that women are natural providers and our society is reverting back to such behavoir.

I moved to NY and my ex is in LA,I won't be moving back to LA until April. The reason he is my ex is because, well we weren't ready to be in a relationship, and long distance relationships don't work anyway.Since we aren't together dating other people is an issue we try not to get into because we both believe if your not with someone they are free to live how they want (crazy I know, but please do not judge us.)Anyway, we talk on the phone everyday for hours at a time.Nothing has changed since I came out here last month, we still love each other and have hopes of being in a relationship ONE DAY. We are still young, 21, and don't want to rush into anything and do anything we'll regret. So we are taking it slow. The problem is though, even though we may be dating others. The pain of being so far runs deep. I miss him so much that it hurts.I know that in life there's no guarantees and us getting back together is no exception. I refuse to lose hope, Am I crazy for having faith in us?

About a month ago, my I found emails from my husband to another woman. I asked him he came forward. He had meet up with the woman about four times and they talked through email. I saw this as cheating... Even though they both say noting happen. Yes, they did talk about getting together. I was a faithful wife.... I was like at my husbands feet doing anything he wanted and never would I have guess my husband would have cheated. I thought our relationship was fine not in danger.... So my question is how can this happen? Dont he love me? How can I tell if he wants our relationship?

Cheating or Money? Which has a greater ground for divorce.
Someone I know let her husband loss all her saving.. 200,000 on 1 stock. Do you think it's forgivable?

My parents have somehow been married for 22 years now and according to my dad, it's pretty much been down the hole ever since my sister and I were born. My mom has many...issues such as OCD and anger problems as well as the whole "blamer" thing going on and is always supicious of my father. My dad also has a very bad temper which doesn't help as well as depression (from what he claims got it because of my mom). They always fight over the stupid things, and it's each and every day they do it, forgive each other, and then do it again. They've been in marriage therapy for a few years and it doesn't help at all. I almost wish they would get divorced so I wouldn't have to deal with it. Even if I talk to them about this, they'll just say "ok" but will get angry the next day. I'm an adult now, but I don't know what to do.

My children do receive from their father a modest weekly sum for the basics. However, he has paid for no extras (birthday party gifts, hockey dues, gifts from Santa, softball registration, etc.), no medical/dental bills, and no prescriptions. Be aware please that I provide my children's insurance. In essence, we are struggling to make ends meet. The only extras he has paid for are the two toothbrushes the kids use during the 96 hours a month they see him. I realize the weekly support is more than some single parents can rely on, and I apologize if it seems I am being petty. It's just that it's occured to me that perhaps I'm not making use of some of the standard child support practices out there (ex. I've heard that some parents split the insurance deductible, for instance)

He just won't talk. He doesn't even say hello. It is like pulling teeth to get him to look at me. And if I do get him to say anything he tells me he is pissed at everything and is getting ready to snap He says I haven't done anything wrong, then he turns around and says he keeps finding small things I do that piss him off. Like doing my schoolwork when he is near. Then he just won't say anything until we get ready for bed. But he will sit there and text someone. And he always hides it even when I only see it out of the corner of my eye. He keeps thinking I am gonna look over his shoulder, when I respect him more than that. And as for space he normally is out every other night until 2 or 3 am and gets mad when I ask.

Ok I have been with this man for 25 years now and every year at about the same time he turns into the biggest rear end ? can anybody enlighten me with what might be going on is it possible something traumatized him and it triggers a this behavior. The rest of the year he is a great provider, lover and father. I am not sure I can do 25 more years if I don't figure this out. Last year was without major attitude problem. I thought we had got past the Oct-Dec problem. Please I know I have not given alot of details but if anyone one has a clue please let me know. I am open to just about anything.

My future husband and I use to do drugs together 7 years ago when we were in middle school, We have both grown from that and come back to each other and we are getting married in December, How do I convince my mother that he is not the same guy he use to be 7 years ago?

I am 19 and I know that I am young and I still have college, I have thought about everything someone needs to think about before getting married. I know that there are other guys out there and guys I will meet in college, but I love him, I always have and he's the one that I've always wanted to be with, even when i was in other relationships. Divorce is not even an option with us. He is in the army right now about to go to Iraq this summer and we are getting married the end of December before I go off to school. we really want to do this right and not elope

My mom hates to talk about it and everyone tells me that these kinda things never work out.
I've prayed about it and I've got a peace about this whole thing.

I was recently married. The judge at city hall who married us; her name was Carol. The marriage cerfticate came in the mail today. The judges name is spelled "Casrol". I recently read in a gossip piece that celebrity Usher and Tameka's marriage license had a similar mistake with the judges name being spelled incorrectly and their marriage may be invalid in the state of Georgia. I was just wondering if it was true. Is my marriage considered invalid due to the clerks mistake?

The other night, out of the blue, my fiancee asked me to put her thong on. I said no, but the more I resisted, the more she asked and just wouldnt let it go. So I finally gave in and put them on for her. I have to admit that it felt totally different from wearing boxers. I really liked the texture of them and the way they felt to wear, but I am embarassed to admit it to her. I kind of want to do it again, but what do I say to her? Can any women out there tell me if this kind of thing is ok from a woman's standpoint?

I have been married for only 10 months. I found out by checking my husband's phone that he and this girl have been meeting to "watch football" on Monday nights when I am at work. The problem is that he lied to me and told me he has been watching football "with the boys" whenever I see him when I get off of work. It's not like they are old friends, either; they had only met through mutual friends in the past twice, and only recently, her # has just appeared in his contacts. I feel it is inappropriate and disrespectful to me for a married man to take a single or married woman out for drinks, dinner OR football, and especially to lie about it after. I left her a message & she called me back and said that she knew we were married, but had no idea that he was keeping their time together secret and that she would definitely not hang out with him/call him again. There are plenty of his guy friends that love football that he can hang out with. Why do you think he is acting this way?
