Is it normal to begin to have nothing in common with your friends after you get married?

story:

OK I had 2 best friends one was my age and the other was a year younger. but after i got married and we would go to the mall or what ever they would be all OHH look at that ***, or man he is hot, stuff like that i wasn't into chasing guys anymore i had my man and i was happy. So now that i have been married a few months I have not the first thing in common with them, there in high school im studying at home, they like to shop, i like to save money, you know stuff liek that.

Is it normal that we no longer have anything in common? and do most newly weds go throu this? i am young and married and i am so happy.

I'm female, just turned 60 - very youthful and energetic. The man I'm married to is a shadow of what he was when I married him. He's a cynical, bitter man, with no sense of humor and zest for living. Won't take vacations, not interested in socializing - through the years has become my complete opposite.

Divorce is out of the question. I don't have the energy to go through it or the desire to upset my family or jepodize my home .
I'm in counseling, grateful to have a health plan that covers 2 visits a month.

What I'd like to know is "are there more people like me out there?" Married to someone who changed for the worst through the years, in a joyless marriage, shaking your head wondering how you ever ended up like this in what should be the best years of your life?

This is misery.

Serious answers only please.

My husband and I discussed this topic.

If a marriage isn't working out, one partner moves out, and they didn't give their spouse a second chance to fix the problem, is that wrong? Does that make me a b*tch? Because now I'm giving a second chance, and he is telling me that everyone should have one.

Here's the deal: in june of this year my hubby went out and bought himself a 40k car without having any sort of approval from me. At the beginning of the month I had an accident with deer (dang wildlife doens't look before crossing the road) and totalled my car, which was all paid for (by me, before us). Since the insurance money came in I've been trying to purchase a vehicle that will be reliable and winter driving friendly and plan to spend about 8,000. However, every time I set up an appointment to go see a car he 'needs' to take his car (the only vehicle) somewhere in the opposite direction. I need to get a new car soon because he quite often works out of town and I have a 45 minute commute to the rural school where I work. How do I metaphorically smack him upside the head?

... me to really get over him because this sticky situation is spoiling my chances to stick with someone new and move on with my life. it's not only the comparison thing that without doubt I am doing eventually every time i go out on a date, but the fact that when i see him, my knees go weak, i'm totally smitten and i can't control that (I can't control my heartbeat or dizzyness, if you understand me).
i know him a lot of years, and it's always been like that with me. I know he's interested and was interested but i kept rejecting him because i thought we were highly incompatible and thought the crush was going to go away. well it doesn't and now he's married with kid and I have no intention of doing anything (he kissed me after his marriage). so it's not just in my mind.
anyway all that is irrelevant but i'm only writing to point out that this thing has deep roots and i wonder if anyone in a similar situation has any tips or advice to get it over with because it's harmful.

My husband and I have been married for 6 years, we have two beautiful children, ages 3 and 4. Problem is we do not get along. We have a bad past, he has lied quite a bit, and cheated 2-3 times (Once that I have solid proof of) When we get in an argument he usually ends up leaving for a few hours. He says he goes to the Casino, but who knows. I had decided to forgive him. As far as I know he hasn't done anything else, but we still have issues. Wefight over small stuff, like clothes, or stuff on tv. I try to tell him not to make a big deal out of stuff. For example, I was dancing in the car to Beyonce's new song, and he told me that I needed to stop b/c I was acting like a 15 year old, not a mother and a wife (I am 24)Well, I have had my share of fights with him, but never this picky or cheated on him. I have recently lost alot of weight and I feel as if I can find someone better. He says that I am leaving him just b.c,. i lost weight. My family says its b/c im hot and he cant take it.

I recently found out a friend of mine is cheating on his wife. What kind of woman dates a married man? My understanding of women was that if a married man made a pass at a woman, she would think he was a dirt bag.

What does the married man say to alleviate this feeling, and end up sleeping with the new woman?

Last Tuesday was my 30th birthday. My husband usually forgets, so I reminded him a month ago, and then a week before my brithday.
Tuesday morning he had been up for half an hour, so i said, "aren't you going to wish me a happy birthday?"
he said that I should have reminded him, even though I did. He went to work, and was not home until after 8pm.
He had no card, no presents, no flowers. I always make a big deal out of birthdays for him and our children. I make cakes from scratch, invite family for dinner and buy a persent ahead of time. It really hurts me that on my brithday, I did not get anything. I am not a material person, I just wanted him to show me he cares.
On Friday night I told him how upset I was, and he just blew me off. I was crying because my feelings were so hurt. I figured that maybe he might plan something for the weekend, but now it is Sunday and he has done nothing.
How do I get over this? I feel so alone.

I have been hot for him since day 1 and almost 4 years later i still get flustered when it's just me an him and what's worse is that he kind of knows it. I just don't know what I should do because I know what I would like to do but I don't think it would be smart.

Can honestly say they are never attracted to other people?

I don't mean you would cheat on your partners. I just mean that sometimes you see someone and they catch your eye and you think they look nice or yummy, fit whatever word you choose.

Is it not nice when someone flirts a bit with you, does it honestly not make you feel good about yourself.. just a little bit.

Isn't it just natural? So why do so few couples talk about it or get upset about it?

I don't care how long you are with your boyfriend/girlfriend or fiance - if you're not MARRIED or seeking info on DIVORCE, place your questions in the "singles and dating" category. Silly of me to complain, I know, but it's irritating sifting through these questions!

I live in a foreign country and don´t speak Deutsch, so I don´t have any friends here.

My husband has been at the lowest point of his life for the past 2 years. I have been the "force" that the keeps my family together. I'm sure bec. of this he has kept to himself and has totally abandoned his sexual duties as a husband. I have sent feelers that my needs has to be addressed but all for naught. I have been harboring lustful thoughts that I want to get it from somebody else but I know that would just be getting into a bigger problem. I feel less of a woman now and I feel that my sexuality has reached the deadend. I feel that this is so unfair but at the same time think that it is just sex and that I would soon be pass this. Enlighten me.
