Why get in a situation that puts you in a situation that is worse than being single. For example, when single you only support yourself. Now, when married to a housewife your same income is being spread out thinner to support a free loader!!! Unless she has kids what is the point of marrying a house wife? You are losing one of the benefits of marriage and that is dual income to protect against job lose!!!! HELLO!!!! I think some men in America are sooooooooo driven by social norms and thinking that they don't think for themselves and the situations they put themselves into over nothing!!!!!!!

Why do men marry "housewives"? What's the point?

One last thing for the people who call husbands who can't support housewives "losers".....how is living off a man's money not making you are loser? Social conformity/norms? AH NO!!!!

me and my husband have just hit our one year mark in feb, a month later our son was born. Our son being born I just have to say is not the problem of him not being home. This has been going on since the beginning of the marriage just before I got pregnant I would join him, now with a baby I have to stay at home and he choose to go out. Its usually 3-4 times a week too which I hate. We get along good, like any married couple we have our ups and downs but nothing too big. He just like to drink and be with the guys.... why?? how to do I change this? and I think that is alot of time out of a week to not be at home... am I right?? anyway I need advice... this the only major thing we fight about....he blames it on me nagging but the only thing I ever nag about is not too drink so much, not to be out all hours, to have moderation, and once in a while to not walk on the floor with your dirty shoes haha like he doesnt get it that if he improves what I nag about I wont nag :P please help!!

We've been married for 20 years and I found out my husband is very selfish.He doesn't like me to visit my brother's family (he is my only brother and my parents died many years ago), and he seldom contacts his own family except for sending money back home regularly through my help. And he is not happy all the time and doesn't enjoy his life. And he told me if I want to keep the same connection with my brother as before, he prefers to divorce. By the way, I make more money than him and I don't want to hurt my daughter by doing this, but we fight more and more now and I really hate it. plz advise.

He asked for the money back, I told him no becasue you told me it was for me and my daughter's future. Well he has since sued me for the money. There was nothing in writing on both sides and basically it's his word against mine. We both have attorney's. What do you think the outcome will be.

Okay so here is the 411, I am trying to help my mother out a little bit here. My mother lives in the state of Indiana and is currently in the middle of a divorce. My 14yo sister was living with my mom and step dad was able to see her anytime or pick her up anytime. Well after a year my sister wanted to live with her dad, closer to school and friends. Mom had no problem as long as she could see her anytime as well. Not the case now, she moved in with him and NEVER sees her mom now. He's playing the game really dirty. He is now dating a woman and just packed up the house and is moving and after 3 weeks of NO contact we are just now finding out they are moving. My mothers name is still on the house and still has items in the house. We believe he is going to sell the house and we were told they are having a huge garage sale and just letting people come in and select what they want and pay for it. This cant be legal! We have a lawyer but still wanted other oppinions. Help!

my boyfriend who left me for this 12 years younger trailer/trash honestly i have seen her, dusky looking skin, 5'2 slim, ponytail the worst old car i have ever seen. But love is beautiful so he must be in love.
however, and that's where i am confused he keeps calling me telling me he loves me and misses me and soon he will be back with me ! All so weired and i am concidering all of this maybe even taking him back sick !

We live in Michigan... I was hoping we could do this without an attorney since all parties are willing to do this.... My husband is the only father my daughter has known(she's only 5) and her bio -dad had been in prison and/or jail for the last 4 years... He finally realizes he isn't a "father" for her and wants my husband to be her real dad now.we've went to court several times proving my ex is not a fit parent.(domestic violence against my son, broke a glass on his head, drugs, strong armed robbery, assaulting police offer, malicious destruction of property, stalking, the list goes on... Now he is finally taking the childs own well being into consideration..... I want to get this paperwork going asap, before my ex goes on another crack binge and changes his mind.. any advice?? thanks

I'm referring to couples that are dating for over a year or more and then the couples start talking about their future together and kids all that stuff. Somehow you have this doubt you know as if to say "what if we can't make" I'm asking this cause of my girlfriend I sometimes feel that that and sometimes she feels like that. Here's the thing that gives me hope is that I love her compnay and if we were to break up I would be with anger jelousy seeing her w/someone else. Thinking about the other enjoying her kisses touching her body that would kill me of anger! sometimes she says what if and I tell her " Look we can do it if you have each other and want each other then there is nothing that we can't do" I want to go into the unknow with her but we're both scare b/c we don't know what to expect I love this girl very much and I want to be the guy that gets to enjoy her kisses hugges enjoy her body everything I just don't want this efforts to go in vain

I separated from my ex almost 6 years ago. We had been together for 9 years and have 2 kids together. For most of the relationship he treated me very badly and made me feel like I was worthless. i have finally moved on and found someone new, and so has he. The thing is when I see him with his new girl he treats her very well and is kind, caring and compassionate towards her. It makes me feel like there was something wrong with me because he obviously is capable of showing these emotions, yet he never treated me that way. My new man is the exact opposite and treats me like a princess, yet these feelings of inadequacy are hard to silence. Has this happened to anyone else and how did you deal with it? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the deal.. my husband got a motorcycle while I was 1 month pregnant. He rode me at first with no problems until he started hanging out more and with this other guy. (which was fine at the time since I was getting bigger). I had the baby and mostly stayed home so he was free to ride and do what he wanted. Now he has a problem riding me anywhere and never likes for me to get a babysitter. I have my figure back (I'm looking good!) and I want to go out more every now and then. I feel he tries to keep me a secret from his new crowd of buddies. I think it's time his buddies know he has a nice, pretty, petite wife that likes to have fun, too every now and then. What do you think would happen if I were to start popping up with my girlfriends every now and then where he is? Nothing drastic, just a quick pop in and out unnannounced of course.

This really isn't a HUGE problem but my husband it making it one. We were invited to a BBQ for his mother's birthday at his brother's place. It was supposed to be next week but instead was pushed up to one week. My mom lives in Buffalo, USA (I in Toronto, Canada) and she only visits every other weekend because her boyfriend takes his children for the weekend and they come stay in Toronto. I still don't see her much because I work Saturday and Sunday. I'm 5 months pregnant and have had some very bad days and she has come down to stay with me when I've needed it. Well my mom is down for this weekend for the BBQ. her boyfriend is leaving to drop off his kids to their mom and visit his parents and other relatives and my mom will be left home alone until late at night and will be leaving tonight to go back to Buffalo. I really want to stay with her but my husband told me he wants me to go. I already told him I'm staying with my mom and he's upset. Is my decision wrong??

my wife ran into a old high school friend. she told me about it but didnt say that they swaped phone numbers. well thy started talking alot. about 400 calls from her alone in one mounth. all hours every day. she even snuck one to him on chistmas. then snuck out on new years too. none of this did i know till jan. in jan i went to fld with friends to decide how to deal with my wife taking me for granted. she called him before i was even on the plane. on the fri i was down there she let him watch our 9 year old daughter alone at our house. when i found out that day who watched her i let her know how mad i was. fri night he came over to watch a movie with them. sat he took them to the mall with his kid. i talked to her when she was with them and she lied to me in front of him. about who she was with. she said she cried about lieing to me. yet she left our little girl with his so they could go to the cosino. sun he was at my house till after 2;30 mon mourning. she said he was just a friend.

I am 17 years old and going to be a senior in high school. I recently got engaged to a guy I've been with since 6th grade. We have an 11 month old daughter together, and would love to raise her together and have a life with each other. He's 18 and going to college locally, and so we plan to marry after I graduate in July 2008. However, I am being extremely discouraged by family and friends that I'm making a bad decision. My friend decided to host a dinner party for a few couples last night. I had to beg my fiance to come, he has really bad anxiety , they live and hour & a half away & he's a really picky eater. He finally agrees to come, mainly because she is going to be in our wedding in 2 months. We go & everyone drank a little too much wine & got a little goofy. My fiance I don't drink at all.The conversation quickly turned to ball s@cs, warts & all kind of disgusting things. Then, another friend who was there asked us to drive her & her boyfriend home & she was lying in the back of our car with her feet on the window cussing every other word.

My fiance was a trooper. He was very nice, but just kind of quiet. When we got home he went off on how classless they are and how horrible the night was and would not stop for like an hour! These are my friends and it really pissed me off. He wouldn't quit saying terrible things!Should I blow it off because he came for me or do I have a right to be mad?

I've never been to couples counseling but I imagine they have you do certain "exercises" when you go in. Ya know, like to make you communicate and things like that. Does anyone know of a book that has exercises like what you might do in a therapist's office? My man and I are having communication difficulties in an otherwise perfect relationship!
