"I have my books
and my poetry to protect me
Hiding in my room
Safe within my womb
I touch no one
and no one touches me
I am a rock
I am an island"
But we still have our friends at "Answers"

Everyday. Especially when it concerns guilt over words or actions but I will share with you a little wisdom, hand it over to god ask for guidance although results don't usually happen quick enough, as time passes you won't think as often of your regrets that you have now. You will be faced with many more situations that will most likely fill your heart with more regrets.
The difference between then and what you are going through now is 'EXPERIENCE", So if you made wrong decisions or whatever the case may be the next hurdle you meet will have a broader picture and yet another lesson to be learned. That is what life is all about, You live and learn, then you share your wisdom.
One more thing try to keep yourself busy, don't sit in front of t.v. surround yourself with positive people. LET IT GO BEFORE YOU ALLOW IT TO EAT YOU UP.
Hang in there though trust in yourself and divert your thoughts to a different chapter........

Pesky thoughts that undermine our future..
You actually can train your mind to go forward and not get stuck in the past with regrets and guilt or shame. See a therapist for techniques.
Remember you do have a reason for being here and what you've gone through are the steps you needed to take to wherever it is you are going.
If you are fortunate enough to have born in the greatest nation in the history of the planet and have the ablility to love another human being that puts you in a a very small percentage of all the people in the world.
Look at the big picture you have so much to do in your life, you have the power to do it .So push that small time thinking of looking back on what didn't happen and start looking forward to what can and will happen.
Good luck

I totally know what you mean. I constantly spin circles in my head thinking about the "if only I had..." and the "I should of..." so much so it makes me sick. I do try to stop myself from getting caught up in yesterday or tomorrow, but some days it's just not that easy. There's this really great saying that I tell myself to try to keep myself aware and grounded: " if you have one foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow, than you're pissing all over today." It's hard letting go of regret, but what I have to remember is that the only thing I can change is today. It's an on-going struggle.

Yes, i think all the time if i could just go back i'd do this different and i'd do that, and it's hard not to think about what you should of done but i stop and tell myself, there is no going back so why not focus on doing today what we know we should so we don't look back tommarow or next week and go through the same cycle of i should of done this or that..ya know?

Everybody thinks that sometimes, but if we went back in time and changed things we wouldn't be wise enough not to do them a second time.

I never regret my past decision. Happy in what I have done and like to move on.
Maybe we talk at length one day
