I have no freakin' idea! This is actually one of my pet peeves. Although, I generally ask, "what the hell is wrong with those women?"
I was a housewife for about 4 months after I had my son was born and I was miserable. My husband makes good money and we don't want to put my son in daycare. So I quit my job to stay home. I wanted to kill myself - it was so horrible. Not only was I horribly bored, I felt like a loser because I wasn't doing anything to contribute to family's financial well being, and I felt incredible guilt because I didn't think it was fair that my husband was responsible for buying me stupid crap that I like because I have a vagina and he doesn't.
So I got myself a night job waiting table to my husband can be home with the baby, and we split the housework. I don't make tons of money and I would enjoy more sleep, but that's not the point. At least I'm doing SOMETHING and I am much happier! And until I can pursue my career again, I don't mind.

Dude. You're an idiot.
Really.
Those so called "housewives" are the ones who make sure your dirty pig hole is clean because you don't know how to clean up after yourself. They make sure the bills are paid because you think that the money isn't gone if you still have checks. And they make healthy, economic meals for you even though you think McDonald's is a fancy french restaurant. And let's not even bring kids into the picture. Your idea of a boardroom mom won't have time for you, much less the curtain crawlers---why not outsource and hire one of those spanish speaking housewives to take care of that little problem. After all, it's all about the money right?
Grow up and stop reading your own writing. You're either a virgin or the closest thing you've ever gotten to a relationship with a woman involved having your pants down in front of the computer.
You're either in collge or enrolled in a really f*@#ed up social studies class so If you want to stay single, great. There's a sale on hand lotion at the Walmart. And oh yeah, don't forget to clean up after you're done.

It's having someone to come home to everyday that loves you.
She's taking care of everything so "you" don't have to.
She's cooking dinner for you.
She's doing your laundry.
She's cleaning your house.
She's doing your grocery shopping.
She's making your life easier.
Can you really put a price on all of that?
It's no wonder you're single.
With this attitude, you're going to stay that way too :{
The only reason you probably even have this chip on your shoulder is because you can't find a woman that "wants" to take care of you.
Oooo....and another thing....it's not just "women" that stay home and do the household stuff.
There are men that stay home and their wives go out to the job and make the money.
AND....men don't marry "housewives", they marry the person that they "love".
It's all a matter of what your priorities are.
I AM A HOUSEWIFE....not by choice....for medical reasons.
But when my husband comes home from work, it's nothing but relaxing time for him.
MY WORK never quits.
I never have time off.
I never get sick days.
I never get a paycheck.
But yet, my day never ends.
By the time everything is done around the house, my husband is nice and relaxed and now it's time to work on him ;)
So you tell me, who works harder?
And , who gets paid more?
I think it comes out equal :)

I can see you have strong feelings on the issue. Well you know, I actually have a few friends who refuse to have their woman work. They are living under social norms...they want the wife to stay home and raise the children and cook the food and what not. I don't see anything wrong with that, I'm definately not that type of person though...I'm working period and will manage time to spend with my family and care for them. You make a good point about income. The thing is that when you do decide to have a family or it happens unexpectedly you should already of considered the income situation. The person must of realized that he will need to receive a great income. Therefore he puts himself in that situation. It's just the way some people like it. Again, I'm not for or against it, it's their choice. It's just one of those things that it's like why do they do it to themselves? I'm sure theres a sort of psych behind it.

It's a division of labor and is a VERY efficient way of dealing with life. If you work from 9-5, have you ever tried dealing with those everyday routine errands that capture every single person who owns a house or tries to maintain a bank account (not everything can be done on-line). What about children? If you work 9-5 and don't get home until 6, and the children are in bed at 8, that means their babysitter spends more time with them than either of their parents ... so why have children at all if you aren't going to parent them?
Plus, some women LOVE staying at home and some men enjoy taking care of their woman, in every way, not just using her as extra income.

Chill, as if you don't want to marry a housewife
then don't. A man marries a woman not a
houswife, she becomes a houswife when she
is married and they work for their man so he can
come home to a better environment than where
he left. Some men can't handle the fact that some
women actually work harder at home then some
men do at their jobs, so chill out dude.

Does someone need a nap then a short lesson in why men and women do what they do?
Men actually feel good when they have enough machismo to not only take care of himself but are strong enough to keep a/his family off the streets.
Women actually feel good raising children & keeping a home too because that's how the world keeps growing decent people to teach you & those like you.
That is what's called a nuclear family. In the US there are many variations of the basic family. Anything else you'd like to know Jr.?
PS Once you've grown the stones to respect the differences in men & women you will probably continue to ask questions like this pathetic one.

i don't know what you mean by "housewives". is there some group of women married to their houses that wait for some guy to marry them?
or are you talking about unemployed women who's only means of income is their husband's? then i would agree that that is an unbalance of responsibility.
i wouldn't want to be married or even friends with a freeloader.
as far as having a family - it does require SOMEONE to raise children. when i had my children, i "stayed home" rather than place them in daycare. that's the parents decision to make. still, i never considered that as "not working" or not contributing, because it IS contributing big time!
soo what's your point? i don't see it making any sense.

Lets make myself clear about this when you get married you are responsible for taking care of your wife and family if you have one. If you don't have kids there is nothing to worry about. if your income is not enough than both of you should work to make ends meet. Than on the other hand one can do bad all by them selves so don't blame it on house wives. Shouldn't got married if you didn't want the responsibility or cant take care of your wife.

It's my job to take care of my family. I would rather spend my money taking care of them then wasting it at bars trying to find a woman or spending it on things I don't need. I have everything I need so I don't worry about it. My wife stays home and cares for our children. She does her part. I know she wants to go back to work when our kids get in school and that's fine, but if she chooses not to go back I'm not going to complain.
