Marriage & Divorce - 8 August 2007

He says he wants to marry me...we have been together for 8 yrs!!!!! We just planned to elope (very easy for a man might I add) for next November. When it came down to signing the marriage license application to mail back to the woman who is handling our ceremony, he told me he is scared and is not "wired" for marriage. He says he wants only me for the rest of his life and that isn't the case. He has nothing to say to me, only those words. I feel so sick, like someone hit me with baseball bat allover. I don't know what to do. He had been acted ok with everything we had been planning the past few weeks, I even bought my dress (he knows it too). The fact that we are living together makes this extra difficult. What do I say to him??? ignore him when I come home at night from work? I just don't know. I do know that I can't push this issue right now or nag. This is so unfair to me, and us. I just don't know how to handle this situation. Anyone else go through this?

What I am trying to ask here is. If your husband or boyfriend was at work and we will say female A co-worker tells him that female B that works with them sleeps with several other males there. Then the next day the other female B tells him female A sleeps with several men there. Why would they want to tell him or gossip to him about this kind of stuff knowing he is in a relationship or married? Why would they tell him female issues about themselves or personal things about them as well? Is it normal work talk or something else? How would they get into a conversation about this anyways?

Big deal, it's 2007...I am seeing more infidelity than I have ever seen...why? because of the computer...because we have the internet that makes it ok to talk to exes, flirt online, watch porn, cybersex w/ a webcam or cybering w/ words...shall I go on? People seem to think because it is not in person, it's ok...well, it's not ok...it still hurts your significant other/spouse the same and diminishes trust...and is still cheating...and you wonder why there is all of this divorce??? Before computers, people were more faithful and talked to their spouse...now, they talk to someone else...and wonder why their spouse left them...hmmm...

My husband has just told me not to stress out about it. I am not even on this account, I am his wife! Anyhow, she is also on his credit because he cosigned for a car for her. She was court ordered to refi but couldn't so he agreed to leave it alone so that she could have a car. Our bank account username is their initials still, I moved my money to his bank and he added me to this account, it is our primary one. She still calls him with personal issues. I have had it, I am angry, hurt and don't know what to do now. Help please. Other than this stuff everything is good. I just feel that he is still too attached, and I wonder what else is there that I don't know about.

i got married arranged married to a man from fiji, so i brought him here to canada. he showed me so much love when we had just gotten married. so i thought its not that bad i can make this work.i did ssense him wanting to be incharge of everything. so i did fall in love over course of months he starts changing after 5 months being in canada. i see him trying to hide stuff from me. always making it seem like i have no business interferering with his family matters. i would practically beg for se'x with him when i wanted it. it was like he wanted se'x he got it he wanted to be the one in control of getting everything. sometimes he said i am tired back hurts. or i would cry he wouldn't care. he would say we are all miserable. and i asked him why are u miserable u are here in canada better than what u had before. u are still not happy. i feel like u are using me for ur papers. couple of times we fought about me feeling like he is using me and one time he took his green card and started...

Here is a new one for everybody. My ex was in Shoal Creek Hospital (mental hospital) & she was there because she had been thinking about killing herself. They told her to get a room mate when she got out & that she shouldn't be by herself. In the meant time, her ex who lives in Kansas and has been there all her life sold the house and moved to Austin & has been here for a months now. My ex called me and wanted to know if I would take her back. We have been apart for 11/2 year now. She said we could go to couple's counseling. We tried that before and she wouldn't put in any effort, so I quit. I still love her, but is she nuts wanting me to take her back when she has moved the ex to Texas from Kansas & they are living together. She says they are just friends. The ex was one of our problems when we were in counseling to begin with. She was always calling the ex behind my back.
I would like to know what everyones feed back is on this?

I have been debating this for a few months now. My family is pretty academic and I've always thought I would go on to get a Master's degree. My husband is supportive about it, but we also recently started talking about having kids. He is 6 years older than me and he's definitely ready for a family. Though I would love children, I'm not sure I'm ready to "end" my youth by being a parent. Has anyone tried to go back to school with children? Do you regret not doing it before having them? Is it impossibly difficult? And for those with Master's degrees, is the advanced degree worth waiting to have a family till later in life?

Do you all think it's right if my husband let's me go with his friend to the beer store? The other day my husband had some buddies over after work. They were drinking so was i, but my husband ran out of beer but he didn't feel like driving to the store. So he told me to let his friend go for us. I told my husband i don't trust anyone with my car; but my husband kept insisting i finally said then if you don't want to go with him i will. And he said just hurry and come back. Now i feel that my husband don't love me that much to let me go with his buddy. Shouldn't he have been more protected of me to say it's late you don't need to be out there with a guy. He let me go! Bf released from prison 8 years ago. Moved in with ex in another city about 6 months after release. Says that it was because parole officer kept threatening to send him back to prison and he wanted a new one. That was the only way. We have been together entire time before and after prison, and throughout him living with ex. We have a 4 yr.old daughter. Still fight over the fact that he moved in w/ her and not me. He continues to say "its not what it seems" and that I should believe in him if I love him. Yet, our relationship has plummetted since I have been mentally abusive towards him for 1. still living w/ex 2. flaunting ex with family as his wife and disrespecting me 3. filing for child support My contribution has been I have 1. been uhfaithful 2 times since his release from prison. 2. cronic complain 3. don't clean house 4. have no motivation to do anything but waller in self pity He claims I have no valid reason.Our demise is because of me. I'm realizing my husband is watching porn. I'm sure he always has but I'm noticing it more now that I'm 7 months pregnant. I know positions are limited but we have sex everyday and if we are at home during the day sometimes more. We're 28 and have been together for 12 years so we're not old. Well this weekend, my husband has been working side jobs and he had some girl in his truck and out of all people it was my mom, and sisters they seen them sitting in the truck together.. anyways he jumped out as soon as he seen my family and he acted like he was doing something else. He never once acknowledged my family he ignored them like they were strangers to him.. well later that weekend he would not answer his phone for nothing and then he finally answered the house phone and he was out of breath. I asked him what he was doing and he said that he was sleeping, I did not believe him, he kept asking how long it would take to get home, and he has never done that. We have problems. We have been married almost 4 years. She has been distant and depressed for the last two. She hasn’t been the same since the birth of my wonderful daughter. She is having what I believe is an emotional affair with her ex-husband. I used some spy ware on our home computer to see what all it is that she does on there. I was shocked. I am a very open and honest person so I couldn’t keep what I did from her and sleep at night. She had some bad content on there about me and us and she was sending it to her ex and his sisters, heck, even to one of the neighbors. A lot of she had never even told me about before. She has become very secretive about everything so is what I did wrong? I came clean with her after seeing with my on two eyes and she was defiantly lying to me all along when I asked here what all the fuss was with myspace. My wife is doing strange things. I let her ex girlfriend move in with us for about a year and then I had to force her to move out Aug. 1. Now my wife wants to work where she works, she went to get her hair done at her house today by her exs mom and she has an excuse to be with her everyday. She is telling me they are just best friends but I just can not believe that. I have a trusting problem b/c of our past. I offered to get her hair done but she said no, I do not want her to work b/c she is ill and the dr. even told her not to. When her ex was living there she would stay up late all the time and now she comes to bed when I do. My husband & I are unhappy together however we have been married for four years & have children & will not get divorced because we have a deep connection & an unexplainable love for each other. We have tried to work on things, marriage counseling, etc. He has cheated on me many times. One time he even brought the girl home & had sex with her in front of me against my will. He has been abusive in the past & that is why I couldn't "do anything about it." He has not been physically harmful to me in a year, however with less physical abuse came more cheating & never being home on his part. He has even proposed to me that he openly have other girls he has sex with, but that he would never leave me for them or love them. We constantly fight about cheating and it has led me to become obsessed with "snooping" on him & constantly trying to figure out what he is doing. Would my life be easier if I just "allowed" him to have sex only with other females, because I love him so much?
