Big deal, it's 2007...I am seeing more infidelity than I have ever seen...why? because of the computer...because we have the internet that makes it ok to talk to exes, flirt online, watch porn, cybersex w/ a webcam or cybering w/ words...shall I go on? People seem to think because it is not in person, it's ok...well, it's not ok...it still hurts your significant other/spouse the same and diminishes trust...and is still cheating...and you wonder why there is all of this divorce??? Before computers, people were more faithful and talked to their spouse...now, they talk to someone else...and wonder why their spouse left them...hmmm...

i agree, and i have been guilty. it is easy to fall into that whole trap. i hurt my wife with an online affair, and yes it hurt her as much as if i had met in person. will never make that mistake again.

The Golden Age of Moral Decency never existed. There isn't an up swing in the number of people who cheat or who divorce. The truth is we just are NO LONGER afraid to talk about it. The old stigmas are gone like being laid off and unemployed. People have grown to understand that society imposed morals have no weight in the real world. The rich and immoral of the past became powerful by using the fear of being an outcast as a means of control the masses. Take a good look at the rich and famous. They are living by the motto "Do as I say and not as I do."

Human beings have great potential, but have always been vile creatures.

well I am 21 and I never had access to a computer growing up, and for the most part I still don't unless I am here on campus at my college. and it seems like everyone takes cell phones for granted when they pretty much did not even exist prior to about 15 years ago. I just wish everything could go back to the way it was before there were computers and things, where everything was natural. Nowadays it is like computers run people's lives and take the place of other things, sometimes even things like studying.

couldn't agree more. sadly, people have found "comfort" in seeking what is "missing" in their relationships at the tip of their fingers.....

When computers weren't around it only made it tougher for people to do what is done today, yet that doesn't mean they didn't do it..... it simply took much more time and effort.

We do hurt people more and more now a days, sadly we are after all a wee bit selfish and look at what will make us feel "better" in the here and now with out thinking about tomorrow and those who we are hurting.

Who knows where we will all end.... sad isn't?

You are absolutely right. The computer has made cheating more easy to do. It doesn't have to be physical to be considered cheating. If more people would turn off their computers and plug into their relationships there would be less cheating and affairs. Many affairs start off as innocent chatting on line....some people just don't know how to control themselves. So sad...........
