We separated 1 year ago. She was abusive and 1 year ago beat me up. I called up the California police , they opened a criminal felony case. She hired a smart attorney and got away from a sentence. All she got is a attorney 1 year probation after which her charges will be dropped.

I feel that it is not fair for the system to not even punish her for her crime. Now she is coming to rip me off financially. I filed a divorce and she is asking for document, interrogatories etc.

I sometimes feel that how can the whole system be so unfair. I was the one abused in relationship. She did not get any punishment and in a way i am getting punished in financial senses. Any advices on not having to pay a lot in the divorce.
By the way I make 110,000 a year and she makes 30,000.

Not all victims react the same. Some are angry, some are sad and so on. I am talking about victims of abuse by intimate partners such as husbands or boyfriends.

nearly 2 weeks ago my partner physically abused me badly, police were called and he has now left and gone.

Altough I am happy and relieved by this that he has gone, I did love him and I am finding it so hard to get on with my life.

We have 4 kids together and everyday I am just crying and so upset I don't know what to do next.

He hasn't made any contact to speak or see the kids either so they are upset by this too.

Any ideas how I can stop crying and get stronger? He isn't coming back, and I don't want him either but I need to make a start and I dont know how.

Nothing has happened between us, we've only talked and not even inappropriately. I find myself thinking of her all of the time. Should I discuss this with her? Should I discuss this with my wife or ignore it and hope that it goes away... I am horribly confused.

I can't believe what she just told me, this guy said he's not going to take care of the baby he calls and harrasses my wife.
he said he'll pay for an abortion, but not child support.
I really don't want her to have this baby either, but two wrongs don't make a right. I've gotta go back to Iraq in a few weeks. I hope he doesn't start coming around again when I'm gone. what should I do?

I hear him when he talks to other people in the family, or his friends, but whenever he talks to me he can (at times) be hateful and disrespectful and The nicer I am the worse it gets. He always tells me he loves me, but then he acts as if everything i say to him is just an annoyance. He has a few friends who are just Losers, and he always is making excuses for their behavior, but he holds me to much higher standards, is always critical of everything I do? When I tell him how I feel, he says its all me. I asked his family today if it is really me or if they ever hear him speak to other people that way, and they all said he only acts that way to me, What is up?

before when we doesnt have internet conection yet..we used to watch movie as family.he used to help me with house works and cuddle each other while watching tv.He spends his free time wisely...but now
He just do his daily routine works just to keep me away from bubling his unwanted words! At the end of the day just find my self alone on the bed staring at him while Playing `RAN'. Sometimes i even want to have intimate times with him but i see nothing that excites him than playing online. Should i just undestand him?cz he usually says he stopped drinking, etc.thats just his pleasure time. But i`m starting to freak-out! cz he`s not like this before.

he is in India, wife overseas. He is doing nude sexual webcam chatting, wants to meet in person for fun. He gets to go abroad. Both married in India.
Should wife confront him? Is this evidence sufficient to confront his cheating pattern? Would you confront him or just ask for divorce based on general excuses?

i've been married for over 6 years now and no kids.. My marriage has been kind of a drag from the last 3 or 4 years. I feel like i luv my husband a lot but he doesnt give me his 100% not even half of it. He is in his own world and doesnt even want to think abt changing some of his habits for me which is co-operation from his side. We hardly have a sex life.. but the only thing thats keeping me here is him telling me that he luvs me a lot. I mean is that enough? I feel like i have gone too far from him but i still do luv him.. i am confused.. on top of all this, i recently met some1 and after hearing the things from this new guy in my life that i dont get to hear from my husband, i've become very attacthed to him.. he tells me he luvs me very much and that he wants to marry me.. I cant think about leaving my husband coz this would break his heart but is that a good reason for me to stay.. y would'nt he try to change a little bit for me.. so i see that he really do luv me.. Help!!

I am dating a very sweet 45 year old man, he is both my best friend and my boyfriend, I am 25 years old. He was previously married when he was in his late 20's/30's, but he has been divorced for 10 years. I really do want to get married at some point because I am young, and if I stay with him I would like to get married to him. I don't really want a lot of kids, I just would like to get married at some point. The age difference is absolutely no problem, I won't date guys under 35.

why is it that everyone thinks that a child needs both parents to grow up. for example my situation...
my husband left me and his unborn baby at 7 months for a 17 yr old girl. then instead of buying a crib, diapers and formula for his new place he bought his mistress a $250 sound system for her car. and this was just the begining of it! he lied and cheated so why in the hell would i want this dead beat piece of crap to be around my daughter when he doesn't even care about her! she has been in the world for 2 month and he has only wanted to see her 5 times. isn't it healthier for her to be with the one true parent that loves her rather than the one that is a come and go parent.

We've been married a long time. We've had ups and downs like everyone else, but overall it's a good marriage. But recently, things have taken a turn for the worse. My husband has been relatively healthy his whole life, but now, he's got some serious health problems. And, he's middle aged. He's the families breadwinner, and for the majority of the time, I've stayed at home, rearing the kids, being a homemaker. My health is not so great either. Recently, he's been explosive and if I ask something like I need some money to go to the grocery store, he loses it (and on other subjects too). I've considered going back to work, but not only is my health not so good, my mother lives here now, and she's got Alzheimer's. My youngest son is smart, but he's semi-disabled, and would be in charge of her if I did. And I don't think it's fair to him. Besides, when the kids were young and I did work, he'd get mad if he didn't have supper after work, etc. How can I communicate with him?

I'm a Canadian who has been living in Hong Kong for several years. I've been seeing a former co-worker quite seriously for the last year. I'm very fond of her and she is crazy about me. The thing is that I recently quit my job and am starting to think that there is no future for me here, and that I should head back to Canada. I could stay here and find another job, but there is nothing very appealing right now. She would probably marry me and move to Canada if I asked her, but it would break her parents' hearts to have her living so far away. And I have a feeling that she would struggle with her career in Canada. What should I do about this relationship?
