I think you made a very wise decision.

So a bunch of you go out, you end up at Lyle's house because your friend dumped you there, but, somehow there is something wrong with Lyle because he likes his drink?

What's wrong with this picture?

Did Lyle expect you to sleep with him? Was he less than a gentleman? We don't know. Based upon this information I think you might have been a bit rude to Lyle.
What did he do wrong except drink? After all he was the one at home. Not a bad place to be when you should not be behind a wheel.

Okay, first thing, I'm in a commited relationship and I would have called myself a cab or someone. IF I was single, it depends. Am I looking for a fling with Lyle and am I carrying my 'just incase condom'? If so, then I might stay for awhile at Lyle's, but even then I wouldn't stay the night. Seriously though, I liked to play with fire, but staying at some strange guys house can turn into a nasty situation, so if you want to play it safe, go home and get to know Lyle a little better before staying over...If you liked Lyle, why don't you get his number from your friend and give him a call?

Of course not, how old are you? he probably couldn't get it up anyway. Get out of a situation like that but first, don't allow yourself to get into it.

In a word NO.

If he is all that you say he can call you when he is sober.
