marriage itself cannot ruin a life. The person you marry can.

Not always! Marriage can, and does ruin many peoples life. But this is from the mistake of the people who THOUGHT they were ready. A lot of people get married thinking it will fix things, but it cant.
Congress should make a law that people so complete counseling before marriage.

No.. Marriage doesn't ruin lives.. PEOPLE ruin lives.. And many members of the Congress are happily marries, so why would they ban something that they as well as millions of other people are completely happy with?? Marriage is too important to too many people to be "banned.." No way.. Marriage is around to stay!!

I don't think that marriage ruins lives. If done for the right reasons it can be bloody brilliant for the enrichment of your life. I've been married once and it was terrible, I'm "in talks" about an engagement with my boyfriend, and I'm grateful to have the past experience going in.

marriage doesn't but the people can. just depends on who you marry and if both take the vows to heart and follow them. problem is now days people jump into marriage without thinking long term and then they don't work out for one reason or another, but no marriage doesn't ruin lives the people do.

honestly i have seen so many people live together for years happily and just months after getting married the whole relationship falls apart, it is something about that piece of paper that just ruins it for people but som others married in like the 60s are together for ever and married happily ever after.

I've been married for 1 year. It's ok at times and horrible at others. It just all depends how you and your husband or wife get's along. Just be trustful and understanding and everything should work out

The Conservatives wouldn't hear of banning it. They expect the government to subsidize social institutions. Hmph. Cons would have an official CHURCH established if they could get away with it!

it just messes up the ones that cant handle Marriage

Or just plain assholes go into it and **** themselves up
its all the circle of life
