Marriage & Divorce - 5 November 2006

I entered into a marriage with 70k of assets (equity from a home which I sold and put into a joint stock account with my spouse). He had a lot which was financed (little equity at the time of marriage) but during our marriage we built a house on the lot together and it is now worth 250K but my name is not on the deed. I have asked him to add my name to the deed because technically I entered the marriage with more assets than he did and my assets turned into community property but his did not. What course of action do I have if he refuses to add my name to the deed? I really don't want to divorce him over this but it is the principal of the thing. FYI the house on the lot was built "out of pocket" which came from his income because he was living in my house for free for a year (same house I sold and turned the equity into community property) but we built the house ourselves, putting in many design and labor ours personally and I paid for the 10k drive way myself.

I heard a girl say "once I get married, I will never have to give another BJ." I thought to myself, you are going to have many unsuccesful marriages. Dont women realize that if they dont do it at least once in a while he will find someone who will. I mean if he beats you and treats you like crap, i could understand not doing it, but if he works full time to support you and your family, shouldnt he get something in return. I realize that some women support the family, im not talking about you women.

My husband and I divorced within the past year. We now live in different states. I have primary custody of our 14-year-old son. He now tells me he wants to go live with his father - the main reason being that he misses his chums and his relatives (on my husbands side - all of my relatives live 3,000 miles away). I can understand why my son would get lonely, but I hate very much to have him leave. I also feel that my ex is too lenient on my son, not oferring enough advice and direction. What would you do in this situation?

My boyfriend and I have been in serious talks of engagement and marriage for probably 6 months now. Now that I'm 5 weeks from graduating from college, we've been talking a bit more about it. My problem is that I don't want to pressure him too much, so I try not to bring things up too often. He has been sidestepping my questions about when we will get engaged (right after I graduate or if we will wait months/a year, etc). He also keeps maintaining that he doesn't want to get me a "crappy ring" so I'm assuming he's saving his money as he mentioned his belief that "rings should cost 2-3 months of a man's salary." We've been casually looking at rings together in a magazine or two, talking about what we like and don't like. So here is my question to you... I found a picture of an AMAZING ring today that is exactly the type of design I'm interested in. Would it be helpful to email him the picture, or will that just be an annoyance? All you men out there? What's a lady to do? :)

my wife as left me after 20 years. she says she doen't love me anymore. she was hoping the kids (16 and 19) would go with her but they have stopped with me . i have suggested that as she is 40 in a few weeks that it might be a mid life crisis. she says there is nothing wrong with her and she knows what she is doing. everybody keeps saying that she will be back when she comes to her senses. the way she is talking to me i know she is serious and is not coming back. she said she wanted to go night clubbing with our daughter who said that she was way too old to do that. wife said she was joking. she keeps asking me to give her space and she is not coming home. she won't consider marriage guidence because there is nothing wrong with her and she doesn't need to talk to strangers about her problems. all her family have taken my side but all she is saying is that we are all wrong. thing is the more i pressure her to come back the more she will stay away she can be stubborn like that.

We love eachother very much. The relationship is not based on sex and have been involved for 18 months. If both of us were happy with our marriages, we would not have strayed. My wife is a beautiful woman but is not strong emotionally and has come to depend on me for everyting. But with the other lady, her personality and mental strength are her assets. She is beautiful, funny, and loving. We finish eachothers sentences. She cares more about everyone else then for herself. When we are together, nothing else seems to matter. When we are apart, I am empty. When I am away fromher, I do nothing but think of her. She will tell me that there is no gaurentee with us. What do I do? I know that patients is a virtue and I am tired of lying to my wife.

I am so glad that South Africa is finally allowing people from the same sex to be married. Although i will not be useing this right, i feel that it is a vital need in order for South Africa to call its self a democracy. How can we say that everyone is equal if someone is not allowed to be married to the person he/she loves. I get so annoyed when all those religiuos activists protest this law. I meen its not like SA is telling them to change their religion at all. and anyway didnt the bible say that all Men are equal befor the lord (capital M = all people). I read a letter from a guy that has the same opinion as me in the newspaper recently, and i was like, take that! ha ha ha!
What are your opinions????

This world is a horrible, sick and disgusting place. No child should ever have to grow up in this world. With all the murder, rape, and things one cant even talk about, I refuse to have kids. If someone commits an awful crime against your kids, its that persons fault, but its ultimately your fault for bringing the kid into the world and subjecting him to that kind of pain. I dont care what happenes to me, but i am not going to be responcible for a tragedy.

I ended up chatting with a very sweet man last night for about an hour and half. He was very sweet and funny and a had a lot of laughs. I wasn't looking for anything and neither was he, I think we were just both lonely. His wife is in another country and my husband works a lot. Nothing could happen because he lives in CA.and I live in CO. So, why do I feel so guilty?

i get extremely jealous over my husband's x.I start comparing myself with her + i hear many nice things bout her.I felt i could never be better than her.I know thats the past, they've broke up and he told me shes already a dead body to him.I tried to not think about it,its very foolish and hurting myself for no reason.I cried earlier after my husband told me some things bout her n he is sick of my attitude and told me to forget him. That it would be best for me.I love him more than my life.everytime i hear him talking bout her i wish it didnt happened between them n with me instead.I feel very sorry for making so much trouble for him.How should i start accepting she was a nice person n no point thinking so much nonsense.I would do anything to change myself.
he wants to break this relationship cause of my trust issue now. i cant do it . i want this relationship with him . i trust him just sometimes i say things which i dont mean but i really do trust him . please help me .

The time is near for me to proceed with the divorce papers. This is going to be a contested divorce coz he is adament not to give in to what i want though the cause of it is I cant reasonable live with him. He cheated on me, verbally and emotionally abuse me and now, I came to know he got a Private Investigator to check on me. To come clean, I have no other men to replace him. I dont need any at this point of time. Enough is enough. I just cannot reciprocate any love he claimed he has for me.

My question is, how do you prepare yourself emotionally and mentally while going through this hard walk without getting yourself too vulnerable for any potential "attacks" from him and crumble in the end.

I find myself both emotionally and mentally chaotic and find it hard to get myself grounded to get to where I want.

Pls help if it is possible. Thank you.

My beautiful wife is into the same old, tried and true sex (which works adequately for both of us). I am into the magic, spirituality and adventure of extended, creative lovemaking. It can have so many "textures" and "colors". Her style is to "get there and get done", very linear & straightforward, and I (badly) want more. I love her dearly (we've been together & faithful for 10 years) but I am having thoughts of getting with another woman. To me sex can be so much more than just "relieving yourself"---and I am so tired of doing just that 5-7 times a week (sex with her, and w/ myself).
A little context: we have a very active & demanding 3 yr old.My wife makes 2x what I make per hour and is the major bread winner, at the moment. She wants me to earn more.I have been an aerobic athlete most of my life & do have an enormous amount of physical energy.
Thank you in advance for all your thoughtful responses. I especially appreciate any responses that are coming from personal experience.

There is a woman I have been working with for almost 6 years now. She has been married the whole time but I am deeply attracted to her and I believe it is mutual. I am also married with a kid on the way but I am always thinking about my co-worker. We get along so great and share alot and understand each other. She has a kid but I know she is very unhappy in her marriage. How can I pursue things further with her in the most tactful way?
