This world is a horrible, sick and disgusting place. No child should ever have to grow up in this world. With all the murder, rape, and things one cant even talk about, I refuse to have kids. If someone commits an awful crime against your kids, its that persons fault, but its ultimately your fault for bringing the kid into the world and subjecting him to that kind of pain. I dont care what happenes to me, but i am not going to be responcible for a tragedy.

That is the risk you take. Obviously your parents took that risk with you. I have 2 kids and couldn't imagine a day without them.

Well I was with you there for the question. But your answer has a lot to be desired. I think that with the world population explosion going unchecked for several centuries, we need to be more responsible. Unfortunately, that gets thrown out the window when Susie shakes her booty! Someday, in my kids life time, they will put a cap on how many kids you are allowed to have, compared to your finances. If you aren't ready for kids though, just say so instead of taking up this radical "the worlds a terrible place" idea. She will respect you more.

That is a very stupid, ignorant comment to make. If someone hurts my child-I AM RESPONSIBLE because I brought them into this world????? No I am not responsible at all as long as I love, care for, watch out for and protect my children then I am doing my job. Unfortunately things happen in this world that no one can control no matter how hard you try--but people that have children that dearly love those children and protect them? It is never their fault if some idiot comes along and hurts them. Grow up.

Are you stupid? By your post it sounds like it.

I am 19 years old and have two sisters and a brother whom are 21 and 16 and nothig bad ecer haapened to any of us.

All my life I grew up in a gated and rich community where nothing but decent people lived thier. If you had a run in with the law you were not allowed to buy a home in the area .

Millions go their whole life without nothing happpening to them and how stupid are you to blame parents for something that happened.

I have a 2 year old and if someone were to walk up to me and say such a thing I would take my purse and hit them in the face with it.

Your ignorant and selfish and stupid for that matter. You know nothing about this world

Well, that's kind of a morbid way of looking at it, but you're right. I like kids, but I would never have one of my own. I'm too self-centered to put someone else's needs before my own, and I don't want to get married or even have a serious relationship, so there's no point. I don't want anything that might derail my career. Besides, the world is full enough as it is.

If everyone thought like you did the human race would die out....we all know the world is a horrible place, but as a parent i know for sure i would put my life on the line to protect my child, and i know you cant be there all the time but hopefully i have instilled some very good values, and i know that my child is no fool they have the common sense to steer clear of danger, avoid it like the plague......if your parents thought like you did they would not have had you....but we are all entitled to our opinions, but your reason not to have children is based on fear alone, and every parent feels some level of fear for their children, but we can only give them the tools, to safe guard themselves as they are growing up, so that the right information, and knowledge is instilled in them.

If you truly desire to have children and help them to become GOOD PEOPLE, then yes. We need more GOOD PEOPLE in this world.
In your case, I don't think you would have the right attitude to raise mentally healthy children...yet.
Yes, sucky things happen, some horriffic, some due to crappy people, some due to disease, but for the most part, it's ok.
If people spend more quality time with their kids, protecting them, teaching them about the bad and good, they will be better off.
My advice to you, get to church, volunteer to help the needy, go beyond the "world" you have created and go find the good in it. If you can't find the good, seek counseling. Good luck to you, I hope you can let go of your anger somehow.

the tragedy is not sharing yourself with the life you could bring to the world thorough your child. the world will never seem safe to a mother or father. the strength you receive from being a parent is priceless. life is the strength of the world.

I think it's right to have kids if you feel confident in your ability to shelter them from the things you mention. You obviously don't feel up to the challenge, so you shouldn't have any.

However, you might want to reconsider. Because you are so much aware of the perils of the world, your children might be able to make it a better place.
