Marriage & Divorce - 5 November 2006

I've been married for almost 10 years. My wife called me @ work to tell me just got a call from an old flame. He's in town for a conference and wanted to get together and "hang out". She told me that he dumped her 1 year prior to us getting together.
I asked how he found phone # and she said she didn't know (he's in a different state). During their initial conversation she agreed to lunch and I said that probably wasn't a good idea. I think she has since canceled the lunch meeting indicating that she's too busy (kids/schedule). He has since sent a couple of e-mails (i guess she gave him her e-mail too) giving alternate times. My wife says that she want to meet the old flame to show him what he missed out on. Right now, I'm feeling insecure and confused. Am I reading too much into this? thx.

I have worked hard at my marriage for so long but nothing will save it not even a kiss from god almighty!! I have 3 children never planned to be a single mum. Do i need to go and see a solicitor my husband would never oppose to me having custody of the children.

I have the most beautiful, new baby girl along with the most beautiful wife!!! I have a mortgage and a small car payment along with household expenses. I currently make 23k a year and my wife is staying home for at least the first 2 years with our daughter because she was born 2 months early. A CDL will get me a job making at least $42k a year. The downside, I won't be home much during the 5 month class and I may not like the job as much as my current job, though it pays less. I am a family man, 35 years young. One income is hard, but I love coming home to my wife and baby every day and spending quality time with them on the weekends! A trucking job will pay more, but I will be away from them, which to me is heartbreaking! My wife had c-section so I cook and clean when I get off work so she can concentrate on our baby. I am an aspiring cartoonist, so I'm hoping some of my work will pay off soon for us. But also with a CDL, I can work locally. So what should I do?

and it has been 2 years since I last saw him. We broke up because his family did not accept that I was not of his background/religion. He told me he got married six months ago (arranged) and is not happy at all and regretted not having fought harder to save our relationship back then. I, on the other hand, am happy with who I am with now but I wonder if there are couples out there who are unhappily married because of the pressure of family??

my husband and i have been having drama. right now we're fighting because he didn't answer his cell phone when it was important for him to have it that day because his son was sick and knew he maybe needed the favor of bringing our daughter to school and bringing my son to the E.R. i normally wouldn't have a problem w/ him not answering cuz i know he's at work and he may be busy. BUT i called his work to leave a message and his coworker told me he was at lunch. w/ all the things going on that day it was most important to have his cell w/ him and to be reachable. he said he forgot his phone and anyways he doesn't like to bring his phone w/ him. so i asked him nicely...if from now on he can answer his cell IF he's NOT BUSY...in case of emergency's since i don't have transportation. his reaction was hell no and he's not going to be put on check. which i'm not trying to do...just trying to have him available in case of emergencies. not like i call for no reason..just important things.

My ex husband wants to sign his rights away on his children, because he doesnt want to pay child support any more. He has only seen the children twice in seven years. I have remarried, and he says the kids are back stabers. (they are under 7 years old). Never calls them to talk or sends them letter or anything, just calls to bug me about signing his rights away. Tells me if I dont he will visit them and tell them horroable things about me, and make them hate me. He is many dollars behind in payments, I have never once called him and ask for my child support EVER. My new husband wants to apoted them, but do I have the right to make this choice for my children? Its his loss, these children are wonderful and some day he will be sorry.

Hi, this is kind of a long story but I hope some of you will read it and respond. I guess I'm just really needing to talk about this more than anything because It's really got me down.

My husband own a business in which he owns expensive equipment. A few years back he made a major purchase ($20,000.00) without talking about it with me first. He bought the item then told me. It made me very angry and I told him never to do it again or I would consider divorce. Ok....here's the thing that's bothering me. Last Sunday on the way to eat, he tells me about a major purchase that he is thinking of making ($50,000). After talking about it, I agreed. I was FINE with it until the insurance guy innocently calls me on Wednesday and told me that my husband called in all the information about the purchase on the FRIDAY before he told me about it! - He actually made the deal on the Friday before he tells me! I love my husband with all my heart but I have a decision to make. Divorce or stay.

I am 25 and I was just circumcised. I did it because i was stupid enough to let a doctor talk me into it. All those anti-circumcision people who claim it lowers sensitivity were right. Id say it lowers sensitivity by about half. circumcision makes sex suck for the guy. Now I was an adult who made a stupid decision, but why do mothers choose to make that stupid decision for their babies. Do women really want to ruin there baby boys sex lives???

Well first of all I'm single and I don't want to date anyone because I'm afraid to get married. Why?

Because I'm afraid that nice sweet guy that I marry will turn into a monster and beat the living tar out of me whether physically and emotionally daily.

I have that fear because not a month goes by that I hear of someone being abused in a marriage by a guy.

My son's father and I were involved for two years and have not been together for about 6 years. I am now involved with someone else and he is remarried.
He always has and still "flirts" with me when neither of our partners is around, this is only when dropping off or picking up our son. Examples of this "flirting" is kicking me in the butt (silly I know) and will pick on me in a playful way. He definitely acts differently when it's just me and him when we're dropping off our son. When we talk on the phone, because of our son...if his wife isn't around I can tell because he'll talk to me about other things going on with him and if she is there he just says what he needs to and gets off the phone. We all get along pretty well, his wife, me, him and my partner so why is he acting this way? He always has, he went over to Iraq sometime ago before he married and I was involved and he wanted me to send him "pictures" of me.
