My girlfriend suffers from the effects of a "period" for 365 days in one year. Is there anyone else out-there who recognises this in the women in their life and does it make you want to jump in front of a high-speed train like it does me?

Mate, if she's getting this all year round I can guarantee you that she wants to jump in front of a high-speed train a lot more than you do! Drop the selfish bit for a minute and give her some TLC and encourage her to get checked out to see what's up.

Well I don't know if my hunny wanted to jump in front of a train but before we had a baby my period wanted to make me jump in front of a high speed train. You see I have a 21 day cycle which means that I usually get my period for 7 days. But who can wait that long to have sex???? Anyway, we would have sex during my period but when ever we did some how the period would not stop. It would not be a full blown period but more like endless and irritating spotting. Anyway whenever we controlled ourselves and waited till the period ended it would go back to the normal 21 day cycle. But after our first baby that changed Thank god it was irritating the living crap out of me. I don't know how much of this you understand or if it is even relevant to your situation

A period lasts on average 5-7 days. However sometimes a girl can have problems and suffer continual bleeding. A friend of mine had that problem until she had an operation - so do be sympathetic in case she really has a problem.

It varies between 3 and 7 day's, but did you say 365 days a year ?? That's not normal !!

Well all us girls are different arn't we? So it depends on each individual. 4-6 days is normal, some may last longer and some may not, and each month can be different too! But all in all, I hate it, whoever thought doing this to women had a great sense of humor. What do men get instead??? Nowt!

Your gf has some serious issues. She is either a big pain in the **** or something is very medically wrong with her. No one suffers every single day of they year. There are some conditions that make things uncomfortable for a woman but under a doctor's care, they can be managed. I think that you should seriously think about telling her to have herself checked out or get a new gf. This has to be making you miserable!!

She probably uses it as an excuse, at least part of the time. Maybe 10 days a month, it could be true as far as horomone levels.

women's periods last 2-7 days, but it sounds like you are talking about PMT - if it lasts all year round, it sounds like your girlfriend's problems are a bit more than that!
