Is it better to ignore them and not tell them anything about your personal life or tell them that they have hurt your feelings?

I am fourteen and a lot of people tell me I rush things in life.
I planned my wedding, my engagement ring. I look at Babydepot and decorate my childs nursery and put outfits for my kids together on babygap.com. I just am so looking foward to growing up, as much I love being a kid. Is this really that unhealthy?

When I was a teen I made mistakes and they were harsh and cruel. I apologized sincerely, but for 6 months I was punished and though I pleaded for their trust and forgiveness they were extremely cruel and didn't give. Now I'm 24, a biologist, doing well in my life, the girl they wanted. But since my teen years I've been so resentful that I avoid them and haven't seen them for more than 4 years. For 3 months they've kept callng me every day, want to fix our relatioship, say they love me. Sometimes this upsets me, but I don't want a relationship w/ them. It's damaged for life, impossible to fix it,impossible to pretend nothing happened.Could we have a relationship based on love and trust? I guess not, there will always be wounds, and if we can't have a relationship as good as it was many years ago, I'd better not have any relationship at all. I'm pregnant, in 7 months will be a mom, and it's unthinkable i'll ever be so harsh on my kid, even if he messes up. Im already a MOM to him

I split up with someone six months ago. It was difficult for us both. We exchanged emails, text messages but both resolved that we were doing the right thing.

It got better and the 'missing' part was easier. I felt I could see her agian and not want to embrace.

She died suddenly (shes 35) last week.

I cant start to describe what I feel. No sleep, no food, nothing and Im out of the loop for funeral arrangements and the like.

I need to say goodbye. Anyone, please....

A good friend would be someone who talk to everyday? or like talk to you once every other day while being online? I don't know what defines as a good friend? If it is about caring, my friends care about me but they don't talk to me everyday. 2 of my friends talk to me if they need something for me and same goes with me. So, any ideas?

Okay here is the situation. I just married into a family where there are two new babies. They are two months apart. One from my husbands sister and the other from his brother. His sister and sister-in-law do not like each other and never have. I currently have been watching his sisters child two days a week for about a year. I also offered to watch his brothers child for two hours on one of those days. Now his sister freaked out and basicly said if I want to watch her child I can't watch the other one. I don't know what to do they are both my neices and I love them both the same. Any advice?

My son is a very sensitive 8 year old and I have gotten the news that his biological father has prostate cancer and is in the hospital.
Before too much more is said, please understand, he has not seen or spoken to this man in over three years, by the father's choice.

His father is or was before cancer, in prison for the second time in two years.

His father's family told me the news in a mass sent email, to friends, family, strangers, whoever was in the address book.

His father has had a history of having "diseases" that are killing him since i met him in 1993. He is still alive.

I am not on speaking terms with his father, but if the worst were to happen, I would take him to see him, sick or dead. That would be the only way I would travel that far (over 600 miles).

I have no idea how to say this to my son or even how much of it is true, please help.

What's the point? It's not like I'm suicidal, I just... don't see the point. Right now, I'm stuck in a small town with no friends, no family except my parents who are the ones who moved us out here in the first place (5 years ago). All my friends have moved away here, and there is litterally NO one my age here. The closest to my age is 23... but they have a life of their own, and we don't get along. The closest city is 2 1/2 hours away. All my family and friends live 13-14 hours away. I don't care about school. I could get all F's, or all A's, and I wouldn't care in the slightest. I just don't care about anything anymore. What's the point if we're all just going to die. I don't believe in heaven or hell, no second life, nothing. I think we're like a candle, once the flame is out, it's gone. It wasn't relocated somewhere else, it's just gone. Whats the point? I seriously, have no motivation to do anything. I just don't care. So what is the point, or purpose in life?

i think my family started a new tradition. when my oldest brother was little and began speaking, he learned to say his dad's name better than saying "dad". he never got used to calling our father "dad". he always called him by his name!!!!then my other brother was born, along with me, my younger brother and my little sister. the same thing happened with all the rest of us:we heard our older brother call our dad by his name and he passed it down. we are the first generation that did this(in case you're wondering, we call our mother "mom", thats normal LOL). now, my brother's son calls my brother by his name!!! not only that, he also calls my sister in law by her own name! my nephew doesnt call his parents "mom" and "dad". we dont think that is a bad thing. all of us think it is cute. my dad never cared that we called him by his name, he just lovingly grew used to it. now his grandson is doing the same thing with his father LOL. do you think this is weird????

A question here made me think of a story: A woman was shopping and bumped into another shopper, a complete stranger. She quickly appologized, feeling horribly for knocking their stuff to the floor. Later that night, she was cooking dinner. Her 6 yr old son was standing silently behind her. When she turned around and ran into him she yelled at him to get out of the way and go sit down. The child went to his room crying. When dinner was done, she noticed something on the floor by the stove. It was the flowers her son had picked to give to her.

Question here is, why are we so polite to strangers, people we'll never see again, and so mean to the people we love most?

*** My theory: Because we know they will always love us. We take that love for granted and abuse it. Food for thought.

My father is 61, has emphysema, and uses Oxygen, but, not all of them time.
He was very active, hunting, fishing, owning 2 business', he can't do much of this anymoe, and he is on disability, but, he's got alot of life left in him, and says he's lived long enough, etc, and if he can't do the things he wanted to what's the use?
How do I convince him to change his negative thinking, and be thankful for what he does have?
A nice home, same wife of 40years, 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, all he see's is that HE has nothing to look forward to.
We are all very involved with his Drs, him, and helping him feel better, he has so many friends, always has, etc.

I have just recently separated from my husband of 14 years (we had been together for 21 years) today is his 40th Birthday as well as my son's 6th Birthday.
My mother in law who has been totally against my husband for splitting up the family is meeting his girlfriend for the 1st time today.
I feel very torn as we have been together for so long and this is a big event in his life that for the first time I have nothing to do with.
Should I feel like this or just shut up and get on with it?

They don’t really like me, just coz I have a few luxuries,I am always thought of as spoilt and intolerant
My intolerance comes up only on bad work, not because I am arrogant, moreover they are forever arguing with me, I always speak rationally, whereas they always go with traditions and don’t like anything that is not from their nation
What I’m trying to say is: now, it is their 50th marriage anniversary, and according to customs they are giving me something just coz I’m their grand daughter
I only value true love, not money or gifts that are given in the name of religion (and that too its an expensive one)
Since they have come(my parents are celebrating it in our city): my father has started becoming more angry with me and even they back up the feelings, I’m not like that!
I don’t want to accept a gift that is given out of no true love, and I have no problem in refusing politely, should I do this please?
I’m not at all happy to publicize these matters, but I wanted some advice
