Is it better to ignore them and not tell them anything about your personal life or tell them that they have hurt your feelings?

This is a tough one. I think it depends on who the relatives are and whether they're being rude and insensitive on purpose, or if they are clueless about it.

If they are doing it on purpose, no matter who they are, then they are out-and-out being disrespectful and you should tell them how you feel about it. Then, depending on their response, you go from there. So maybe you want to be cautious about what info you share with them in the future if their response is flippant and they don't seem sorry.

If they are clueless about their rudeness and insensitivity, then tell them how you feel and they should be more conscientious next time.

No matter what, as I mentioned above be cautious about what info you share until you can trust them again. If they continue to be disrespectful, then perhaps it's time to put a little distance between you and them until they turn around.

Good luck!

Well, I understand ur concern as it's actually commonly seen thing that our near and dear ones hurt your feelings without bothering to say even sorry. I agree, ignoring is possible in case of remote relatives while for near relatives, one has to keep patience. You may point out some other time that you didn't like their specific rudeness or insensitive behaviour on so and so occasion, may be through somebody or directly. Hope they take it positively and respect ur feelings.

If you think they are rude and insensitive, why would you want to talk about your personal life with them? You don't have to ignore them but you can tell them when they are acting like assholes!

It'd be best to ignore them. Being as insensitive as you say they were, giving out more of your personal life would just make things worse. They could use it to their advantage and hurt you more.

It depends. If the relatives are far relatives that you see only once every year - I would say ignore them. But if these relatives are the close relatives (mother-in-law, parents etc) then I would say tell them with respect and love. Good luck.

If they're asking questions you don't want to answer, you don't have to ignore them, nor answer them. Just turn it back around and say "Why do you ask?". That puts the responsibility for their rudeness back where it belongs - on them.

For sure, don't tell them anything about your personal life.

It's better to set them straight so they know better than to pry into your personal life.
