OMG i love catching lightning bugs. they are so cool. we use to do it all the time as kids. me and my sister would put them in a peanut butter jar and poke holes in the top and put grass in their. then later we would name them and then let them go. Also some times, but not very often i would rub there little glowing thing on the side walk cause it makes it glow in the dark. it fact last night i was catching lightning bugs last night and i am 16 yrs old. i caught three i named one george and one ashley, the other one got away before i could name it.

I always caught them as a kid and kept them in a jar, I still do but the jar is plastic instead of glass.

I do it now as a Mom with my 16 yr old and my 2 1/2 yr old.

She says that I am crazy for running around the yard like a kid but that she likes it.
