Family - June 2007

This year, my father and I are taking our annual trip to the Dominican Republic. Usually my sister also comes along but she won't be able to make this year because of her new job. I'm grateful to being going again but it won't be the same w/out my sister and I would like someone to acompany me, who is around my age, on the trip. Some would say "Why not make friends there ?" but it is very hard to meet people there because the resort is about 90% French people and they haven't been that friendly to me in the past. My friend's parent doesnt have enough money to pay for her to go & I would like to enjoy something like this w/ her. I would like my friend to come along also because then I would have someone to enjoy daily activities like swimming, snorkeling, and so on. My dad is old in age and can't do all those things. So what are some things I can say or do to try to convince my dad why he should pay for my friend to go ?

& no I'm not spoiled

What I mean here is in the case of the fan blowing wind on him/her, when the baby is sleeping. Japanese people seem to think so, but I can not see any scientific reason why that would happen. Has anyone heard this before?

Ok. I have to work this entire weekend 12 hour shifts which usually turn into 15 hour shifts. I will not be able to see my sweetie until Monday afternoon at the very earliest.
Today, I snuck over to his house where he was sleeping soundly and crawled into his bed thinking we could have a couple hour nap and when we woke up, we could engage in some romance and love making.
Before the sheets settled in, his son-in-law came knocking on the bedroom door to borrow his truck. I was so pissed, I couldnt hardly believe myself. I was kind and got up and went out to meet his relatives and shake their hands and greet them kindly, but after this, the romance was gone. I was just pissed. It happens everytime. Its bad enough these users lived with him for a year, now they pop in unannounced and dont have sense enough to know that we are busy.
Now he is mad accusing me of being a *****.
We work opposite shifts and our time is limited. I wanted to give him an early fathers day surprise

She died on Nov 8, 2006. The loss is still raw for him. I care for him a lot. I don't want to hurt him by remindig his of his loss.

My Uncle's son died 3 months ago (My closest cousin) {He was only 15 yrs old.} He is sad and depressed. Should I get him a "father's day card" Or would that be akward since like your son died. Im afraid he might not consider himsef a father anymore! Your best opinion gets 10 points. Would you give him something for Father's day!!

My dad's job requires him to go overseas and right now he is currently working in China. I never call him in the morning but I decided I would today and it was about 5:00-6:00 a.m. his time. I called the hotel he was staying at, she sent me through, it rang for awhile then a lady picked up the phone and said something in Chinese. So I said, well must be a mishap with the frontdesk calling the wrong room. Then I call his cellphone about 30 mins later and again a lady picks up speaking in Chinese.

Am I being paranoid or is it possible he is cheating? I've been thinking maybe he checked out or got a new cellphone but I just recently talked to him yesterday at the same number...

I didn't tell my mom anything because she would just freak out, what should I do?

Okay my sister moved in with my parents my brother and I. and now we r having problems she is 20yrs old and she isn't here most of the time and my mom wants her to pay rent and my dad is going easy with it and they r always yelling at each other and my sister is complaining to my dad about me and how me and her boy friend r always messing around trying to pin each other down and hitting each other a lot and I told her a billion and one times i dont like him like that he is nice but to shallow and to preppy and I hate guys like that and plus im just gettin over a guy so what should I do????

It's Friday night and my mom is being her b*tchy self again. All she thinks I'm going to be doing is getting drunk,, haveing sex and snorting lines, I'm not like that!! yes a few of my freinds my be druggies, but that doesnt mean im gonna follow in their footsteps. what can i do to convince her?? They don't let me go out with my friends without adult suervision and i'm over fourteen. They always ground me. They don't give me freedom and my own space. I always get in trouble for every little thing.

I mean adults think it is non-sense for kids to have true luv. But yet when a mother or father says I luv u to their child don't they expect to hear it back...but they can't hear it back bcuz their kids don't know wut true luv is...so if a kid says they are in luv or that they luv somebody older ppl think it is non-sense for them to actually love someone right? so then why do adults say that they luv their children if their children dont "really" know wut it means? so ppl say...cuz we really do.

he is not on the birth certificate and he has another family that he cares for and has ignored this child with me (I don't care for child support just want to terminate his rights and it is not for adopting purposes.)To top it off a lawyer will charge me about $200 to $500 an hour and legal aid was no help either... I can file myself but don't know what to do afterwards. Any advice? By the way this is for the state of Florida

why is it that if you are a grandparent and take in a grandchild to live with you becauseof a bad home life we are not treated like that of a foster home.Foster homes make out very well when they take a child into there home so why shouldnt we as grandparents be equal to them this system is not fair and I feel it discriminates agaist the grandparent.Any other people have this same issue please feel free too email me to discuss this thanks

I am not being discriminative to anyone, by asking for Christians, I just need help with these particular peoples beliefs because I am a Christian. I have two boys, 10 and 14. This week they lost their 16 year old stepsister. Terrible, but a fact of life and I am asking for advice on how to help my kids deal with this. They are taking things well as for now, but the funeral is tomorrow, and I am worried as to how they are going to take this. They haven't experienced death, let alone a siblings death. Can anyone give me some advice, any would be great. Thanks so much. My worry is them blaming God or turning against him.

my fiancee is kind of selfish an he does not take me out often. i asked a couple of times an he tells me he has no money but then like two days later he buys a head board an bed frame. Or when i make a suggestion about something he thinks im after something. Then he calls his mother saying i always want to go out an do things. Then she tells me i should make something in tAhe house. But sometimes i want to go out an have fun. an i feel like he is a mommas boy calling his mother for everything trying to make me sound like the bad person. like i think she has a seriuos problem without listening to both sides of the story. An in my personal optionon i think she needs too stop butting in out relationship.

yeah so the other day i was driving home, and my dad started yelling at me about how i always give him an attitude and what not, and then he was like get the condoms out of your room. i didnt even know what to say so i just walked away. It's just wierd having your parents know about your sex life? idn. so what should i say, or should i just be like oh those uh, and lie about it hah, idn but lately it seems like they hate me.

Ok. me and my mom have never really gotten along. but about a week ago we started getting along really good. but then my aunt,uncle, and two cousins Josh and john came down from alaska to visit for a week. this past week has been a living hell. it seems like my mom thinks my cousin john is her son. she treats him like her own son and then she treats me like some random person off the street! like say he's watching tv. i walk past it quickly,she screams at me like i just slapped him or somthing! then see if he throws my $200.00 i-pod into the pool, she yells at me and asks if he's ok!!! omg i have no idea what i should do! i've tried everything but my mother just dosn't seem to like me. and lately the though of running away has been passing through my mind. Please. I'm desperate. What should i do??

My sons 20 and 15 both have emotional/behavioral (largely due to their father whom I kicked out 7 months ago) problems and were a handful to raise.
I spoiled them without realizing it. Now I want to lay down the 'law'.
My 20 year old has his friends over every night (which I enjoy because they have harmless fun, include my friendless 15 year old and i enjoy hearing the laughter in the house).
The problem is they make such a mess.
What steps can I take to get them to clean up after themselves without shouting or yelling ?(which i made the mistake of doing once) I already have them pitching in food and supplies for the house. it's like they just don't get it.
Any advice?
