driving a wedge in the rest of the family? I've apologized 3 times and have had no response. Now my brother's surprise 50th birthday party has been planned (by my sister) and my immediate family has been omitted. No one in my extended family is mad at me except her. Tell me what you think about this. I am going to see him but I'm not invited to the party...he doesn't know I'm not invited because he doesn't know about the party.

I know that this is a popular website and it is read by thousands and this is not so much a qeustion but a comment. I work full time as a paramedic in a rural county an on one Saturday morning in October my life changed as well as an entire family and community. A 3 year old child was run over accidentily by a pick-up truck by someone he loved because he did not see him. He looked before backing up and saw all of his children and thought that they were safe. His son ran out to greet him, he backed up, and ran over his head. The child died enroute to the hospital despite our best efforts. His family is in eternal grief and I will NEVER forget that horrible day. I have signed a petition on kidsandcars.com for all large vehicles whether they be garbage trucks or pick up trucks to have warning devices to tell you when there is something in front of your vehicle. This is not often thought about till it hits home. Next time you get in and back up, look carefully. It could save a life

I have a 5 year old, but I don't know if I will ever have any more. Sometimes I see my daughter talking to her dolls or stuff and start to feel like I NEED to have another one so she won't be so lonely. I know there are a lot of only children out there... do you like being an only child?

All my life I have been told to always be honest and to never lie. So when my sister came to me and asked me to tell her what I thought of her, I told her the truth.

After I finished, she had tears in her eyes, but she thanked me for being candid with her, so I thought everything was alright.

But the next day, my mother came up to me and told me that my sister had spent the entire night crying, and she ordered me to go and apologize for whatever I had done. I was confused. I knew I had been what could be construed as hurtful, but I thought I had been constructive, and that she was glad I had been frank with her.

We have been letting them live with us for a year now and for only $200 a month and they go to the casino all the time. They were kicked out of their previous place and they keep getting rejected from other apartments. I want to raise the rent to 1/2 our mortgage and 1/2 the utilities but my husband thinks that is unfair. But if they have money to gamble... or I want to ask them to leave. the reason we only charged them $200 was so they could get back on their feet and I think they are taking advantage of our genersoity. I wouldnt even be this nice to my own parents. Should I stand my ground on how I feel or am I being unfair?

I met this man and he is stimulates me mentally, spiritually, and physically. He is from iraq, he work at home depot, he lives at a church home due to personal reasons, he doesn't drink or smoke, or have any baby mamas out there, and he doesn't have a car. As far as material things are concerned I have more then he does. I dont really care that he doesn't have as much as me, however I feel programmed (family and friends) to care about him not having a car, a place of his own, and just being in his situation.

here's the situation. in May there is a chance that i will go to the philippines to start school there. i'm already in junior year highschool, and i don't know if i should stay or if i should go. it's been very complicated. half of my family members say that i should just finish school here in america, and the other half say i should go to the philippines so i would be able to experience different things, and learn new stuff. but i'm really not sure what i should do. i've been having alot of issues with some things here and i want to change my enviroment by moving (if that makes any sense) but anyways if i leave i'm not going to be able to see my family and friends for a long time cause i'm going to school there. but the good thing is that i will be able to come back here whenever it's summer break there cause my parents are able to pay for the expenses for example round trip plane ticket. but anyways what should i do i need some input.

thanks for your help.

My husband and I are moving. The place we were going to take was not ready and we r staying with my father in law for 9 days. I have cleaned made lunch for him & hubby to take to work, food shoped, as well as make dinner every night. My father in law is a misirable man. He complains from the minute he awakes until he goes to bed. Also looks to start a fight between me and my husband. The problem is I can not stand living with him. He smells and is discusting + cheap. (if he runs to get coffe he don't ask if anyone else wants any but if you go you need to bring him one) My husband and I will be looking for a house to buy soon. His father wants to live with us. I told my husband no way this was an eye opener. I think we should not say anything and when we move just not ask him to come. He is not ill nor needs to live with anyone. He wanted to move in not to be alone and have something to complain about. My husband feels guilty since we stayed for 9 days.

Well a relative in the family died recently and I went to his funeral and his casket was open so I saw his face. When I'm at the funeral, I tend to stay away from the casket I guess because being near a dead person makes me uncomfortable then they're buried. After they're buried, you regret not getting near them to say good bye. How do you do deal with being uncomfortable around the deceased so you can say goodbye before it's too late?

Last september I had a week booked off. My very best friend , of 50 years, died so half of my week off was spent travelling 200 miles to her furneral and staying overnight. L ast week I had a week booked off and my Godmother died, again an overnight stay, a long arduos drive (6 hours on the way down because of an accident, should take 3hrs at most) 2 weeks later my Godmothers husband dies! On a Sunday and at 6.30 a.m. the same day and time as my Godmother. He obviously couldn't carry on without her. I am not going to his funeral because of the drive and he wasn't actually family but why am I more upset by his departure than my Godmothers? I did not actually get to say goodbye to him on the day of his wifes funeral because I thought he would be coming back to the house afterwards but he went back to the nursing home.Is this why I feel guilty? If so how do I deal with it?

i am a 14 year old boy just to get that out of the way. throughout my childhood my father has been the most important thing in the world to me. especially since my mother abused me to the point that he called the cops. our relationship was perfect until i turned 13. then we started butting heads on several different things. now that im 14 its gone from butting heads to the police being called and threats on my life. me and my father have had very serious and heated arguments in the last year. one of the biggest was 2 days ago. that started by me complaining to my mother that i didn,t want to get the groceries from outside because i had a torn ACL and couldn,t do well on the steps. every time me and my father argue he is drunk. this is one of those times. after talking to my mother i said i don,t want to talk about it anymore. i go to my room. he follows me in there and we start arguing. in the argument he tells me to get out of his house and threatens to kill me. this is normal.

Ive noticed that mostly women who work are down on STAY AT HOME MOMS. WHY? Whether they believe it or not, we dont just sit at home watching tv and eating. Most of us who do stay home have kids to work with. I just think they are jealous b/c they cant stay home. So, why do they think they have a right to b i t c h when we are the ones who sit home and Clean house, do laundry plus deal with the kids ALL DAY. Oh and usually we work every day. No weekend, no holidays..and we dont get paid for what we do. So why do you think you have a right to complain about us.

Im curious to what everyone think of those moms who stay home and clean house, do laundry, cook 3 meals a day plus takes care of her kids. You know, the mom who isnt LAZY! What do you think of her. I dont get to sit down but like 1-3 times a day for a short period and usually then i am working with my oldest on ABC's or something.

So ladies who complain, why do you complain and others what do you think of us?

This isn't my mom's fault. Her sister has always picked fights with her. Her sister got meaner and nastier when she got sick, before she died. Hoping to find a poem or something to help her find comfort...help her forget the harsh words that were spoken.

My husband and I are having problems. I have two teenagers that are great with no problems. My husband on the other hand dislikes them even though they do nothing to him and respect him. He is negative about everything, i.e.. my friends, people, women, and feels like everyone is against him. He befriends my children and then makes up a story that they did that is incorrect. He thinks I talk about him behind his back and am out to just get the best of him. I just don't know what to do anymore. Sometimes he is okay and others everything and everyone is wrong. He finds something wrong in every conversation. Please, if any one has any experience or information please let me know.

My daughter is 4yrs old. I had never shown her a picture of her dad because I didn’t want to open a can of worms. The other night I was looking at some picture and I found a picture of him and she saw it and said “That’s my Daddy”, I didn’t know what to say, the other day she told me that her daddy is her friend and that he gave her a hug. Last nigh was the worst because she kept on asking me were was her daddy, she kept saying “I want my daddy I want my daddy”, I don’t know what to tell her she is too small to understand. What kills me is that he was the worst dad out there, and when she grabs his picture and hugs it kills me. I have no idea how to deal with it.
