c.w??? what is that all about???
we are always making designer babies... we look for partners that are suitable and hope the child gets good traits from both parents...

I have a slightly ambivalent view on designer babies. On the one hand, I think that in some cases it might be a good thing. For example, I have a balanced translocation of genes 6 and 13. To ensure that my offspring do not have physical or mental problems, I could have an in vitro baby and choose only those embryos that have the "normal" gene structure.
On the other hand, it is very scary. I can't help but think that somehow you are forcing God's hand. That is why I struggled with this decision long and hard.
There are people who use this technology to achieve a more "ideal" outer appearance for their children. In this aspect, I would tend to lean much more toward the negative.

I disagree with it. You're altering God's creation and it's just not natural. I wouldn't be happy with a designer baby. Even if people agree with this, you design your baby how you want to design them. When they grow up, they may not necessarily like how they look coz they never got to decide that themselves.
I just think it's a horrible thing to do. It's just an excuse to make more borders between people; ie the lucky designer babies and the plain, unlucky normal babies, who are gonna feel so left out.
