just talk to her, about anything doesn't have to be something serious, just talk. and say I like "I feel this way" it has to be 50/50 your mom has to be willing to listen to you to.
hope it works out.

First of all, what is your description of being mean? Are you saying she is being mean because she has you doing house chores, or not letting you go where you want, when you want to or something of that nature? There is not a problem with you and your mom being friends, but there is also a line that divides that mother and friendship relationship. I mean there is no doubt that you and your mom can be friends and talk and go places, etc. But, at the same time she is STILL your mother, the one that is to guide you in the right direction and the one you have to respect, TO HAVE a friendship with.

No mom should be mean to her child, it all depends if you are an adult maybe doing lunch sometimes, being open with her and let her know that value her as a mother and would like to start working on having a strong mother daughter relationship.

talk with your mom... tell her you want to feel closer with her.
sometimes adults have problems, and instead of facing them, they take it out on others... this is wrong, but it happens.
if you talk with your mom, tell her you love her and care, maybe that will be the beginning of change.
i hope you wil try... hugz

well try telling her things about how your day went.. talk to her like she was as if your best friend. tell her funny things to get you guys closer...no mother would not want to get close to her own children.
