Today, I was just getting ready for soccer when I realize I can't find my shorts. I had them the day before so I asked my Dad. He told me that she took them for my twin sister who is 4 hours away because she couldn't find hers. This is competitive soccer and is really serious. My mom called my coach and asked if he had any extra. He did but I would have to get them at the feild. My coach is allready mad at me because at practice the other day I didn't have cleats, socks, or shin guards. It was because my mom took the bag in my bag out. What should I do about my mom? She never listens to me either. I have to repeat things about 4 times each.

He claimed his boss took him out for drinks for working so hard I do not beleive him! I also have been working hard and you know what I have been doing since I got home at 7:30 A.M. ? You guessed it drinking that is what he gets for doing what he did! How do I get rid of this anger? I mean keeping are kids up till 2:00 A.M. so he can drink come on. WE are both off today so I will drink and he will watch the kids!

my youngest son and his girlfriend of a couple of years want to move in together. They both work and are a sensible couple. however they need a gaurrantor and have asked me. I didnt hesitate and said i would. what gets me is her parents and their respective partners and my ex husband and his wife, wouldnt entertain the idea at all. Personally i cant see the issue here, i dont see anything wrong in helping your kids when you can. am i a soft touch? would you do it? P.S we none of us are millionaires and are probably all on parr (or there abouts) financially.

I would love to hear from Grandparents who live far enough away from their children and grandchildren that they only see them a few times a year or less.

What kind of things do you do to keep a relationship going, esp. with Grandchildren?

Anyone with good suggestions or experience encouraged to reply!

My grandchildren are toddlers, and I live 600 miles away, seeing them about 3 times a year. I send them pictures I make on the computer, and videos of my husband and I reading or telling stories, but looking for other ways of interacting too. (Web cams are not an option at this time, nor is relocating closer.)

I was in the auditorium because there was a play there. A 6th grader that my mom knew well (He's one of the cool kids in his school) was sitting 4 rows in front of me. I was with my friend too. He was talking to his friends and this girl that I think is hot. He was talking to the cool 6th grade kids too. My mom yelled out, "ALEX!!" and waved to get his attention. All the cool kids and the girl looked behind her and eventually saw me, my friend, and my mom waving. I felt like an idiot!

Does anyone know if I looked like an idiot? How long will this take effect? Because I am very cautious about embarrassing myself in school. Am I scarred for life for this?

right next to someone you know very well and NEVER meet the one son that has come to take care of her aftershe lost her sight almost 1year ago. U don't know his name or anything about him. Before he moved in some of us (her nabors) have been making sheer that she is ok and that she has all the things she needs and that her house is not on fier. Like when i was little she used to cut my hair for my mom. for almost free. It is kind of creepy to know that she does not need us anymore. (I think she is one of the oldest people on our street.) she went from friends and nabors whatching her back sence her husband died to being totaly blind and having her son living with her. The hole block would agree with me that we all thought of our selfs as 1 big (sometimes)happyfamily. Why does it feel like we just lost the only person the "family" that held us to gether all thease years?

So I've been having all of these ridiculous dreams where I end up getting in full force screaming fights with my relatively new step-mother (2 yrs). The strange thing is that everything we fight about in my dreams is something that I truly have a problem with in real life. Examples may include blattant disrespect from my step-mother (we'll call her Jane) to people that I am extremely close to for no reason, spoiling her children to the extreme with my father's money, and calling me her "son" when she knows that I don't want her trying to fill in the place left by my deceased mother. There are many other little things, but eventually little things can make big piles. After all these dreams, I am confused about what direction I should go in. I feel uncomfortable approaching her to talk about it. I have told my dad, but unfortunetly he is too busy burying his nose in parenting books trying to figure out what is wrong with me. I've done the counseling thing... Didn't work. Advice?

He goes away to bootcamp. My cousin is leaving for Marine bootcamp on Monday. My parents are throwing a going away party for him on Sunday. His mother is a crackhead and has been in and out of jail and rehab his whole life, and hasn't been a part of his life for the past 8 years, and was barely a part of it before that. She has put him through hell his whole life, by taking off for a fix and leaving him in Godforsaken places like bars, whorehouses, and has even in the past left him in the care of a convicted sex offender. Whenever she's not out getting high, she comes around to start trouble, and now that she has found out that he's leaving for bootcamp, she wants to see him. He, however, wants nothing to do with her. Does she have a right to see her child (for perhaps the last time) before he enters the Marines.

I am 14 years old and my older sister is 16 and has some learning disabilities such as dyslexia. Her maturity level is the same as a 8 year olds. Whenever my parents need to work late or if they are going to a party, I have to watch her and keep her calm. At the same time, I have to act as if she is in charge, but it's hard because I can't watch her unless I actually tell her, but it's so confusing and I hate it. Like she has these spasm attacks. For example, today my mom went on a walk with my dog and my sister came up to me and she's like where's mom? And I replied that I thought she went on a walk. She started to freak out and she's like "You think? You don't know?" and I'm like "Calm down, she'll be home soon." She then said "You probably just don't care where she is." And then she ran out the door, down the street, and started wandering down this bike path. I couldn't just let her go and get lost, so I had find my 9 year old sister outside, tell her where I was going...
