Family - January 2007

I got in a lot of trouble at school and with my dad and anyway long story short my dad is making me write letters of apology to every adult that I was disrespectful too and until I get each signed I am grounded. So anyways today I went to my English teacher to ask her to read and sign mine and she was like I need to read it in front of the whole class and I was like no that would be embarrassing could you please just sign it. Then she says, Lori, I don't think you mean a word of this and I don't accept it and she tore up my letter. I was like how could you do that I am grounded until you sign it and she goes well I hope you're grounded until you're 18 then. I wanted to scream I was so upset so I started crying but I couldn't say what I really felt because I can't risk getting in any more trouble or I might get sent to military school. This is completely unfair. What should I do? My dad has to work late and I have not been able to tell him about this.

I and pretty close with my step-sister untill we get in fights with each other then she goes off and tell other people any of the things that i have told her that no one else was supposed to know. Like one time I told her about a cute guy that i had met and was going out with but that i didn't want any one to know. Then we got in a huge fight and she told every one. And i meen EVERYONE. What shoud i do??

MY HUSBANDS PARENTS WERE DIVORSED AT 3 AND HIS MOTHER SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN IN EMOTIONALLY ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS EVER SINCE, RELYING ON HER ONLY SON ALMOST AS HER PARTNER. SHE LIVES WITH HER BOYFRIEND & HER SON THERE TO PROTECT HER & I FOUND THE CLOSER WE BECAME THE MORE SHE WOULD ARGUE WITH HER BOYFRIEND SHE HASN'T GROWN UP AT ALL AND HAS NO FRIENDS OF HER OWN & SPONGES OFF HER SON FOR FRIENDS. HE SEEMS TOTALY UNAWARE OF THE BAD PARENTING HE HAD & SEES IT AS HIS JOB TO PROTECT HER. SHE CRYS WHEN HE DOESN'T TAKE HER WITH HIM ON DAYS OUT & AS OUR RELATIONSHIP PROGRESSED HER 20 YEAR RELATIONSHIP SEEMED TO GET WORSE UNTILL WE WERE ABOUT TO MOVE IN TOGETHER & SHE HAD A HUGE FIGHT WITH HER BOYFRIEND & MY PARTNER WENT IN TO SAVE HER AGAIN SAYING THAT HE COULDN'T LEAVE HER BECAUSE SHE NEEDED HIS PROTECTION. HE STARTED 2 SUGGEST WE ALL MOVE IN, I SAID I COULD NEVER LIVE WITH THEM BOTH..I AM NOW PREGNANT AND FRIGHTENED OF HER MANIPULATION & CONSTANT EMOTIONAL DRAINING ON MY RELATIONSHIP..HELP!!

My 35 year old brother has never held one single job for more than a year or so (and that only happened one time!!). I tried to e-mail him and explain that he needs to be a contributing member of society, but it's a little difficult when our parents pay his cell phone bill, car insurance and car repairs.
He knows he has it made because everytime he messes up and ends up with nowhere to live, they take him back.
My e-mailing him was only to try to be the "big sister", but it all backfired in my face and now no one is speaking, let alone my parents.
Right now he is sharing a house with my oldest daughter and I am afraid his behavior will leave her with the bills. To make matters worse, she is his boss in the only job he has (when he shows up).
Is there a way to motivate him? Has anyone had luck staging family interventions?

I'm trying to ask my brother if I can play games on his computer because he has the only computer in the house that can run high-graphic games. I can't play those games on my laptop because the video/graphic driver is too "low" and can't run the graphics. He's been saying he's doing HW and projects on his computer, but whenever I come into his room, I see him playing those high-graphic games. I even checked to spy on his computer when he was away and I saw nothing that would look like HW or a project on it. I even checked his agenda and there's nothing written in it (besides his HW and stuff B4). I kept asking my parents if I could use his computer and they asked him if I could use it. He said stuff like "Sure I'm not doing anything anyway" Then minutes later he kicks me off with excuses my parents always believe. I KNOW he's lying, but I can't persuade him to let me on for a good time. I've been trying to get him to let me in for a long time. Someone help? If you don't get it, e-mail!

My husband and I have been married a little over a year, and he is the sole provider of the house, since he is the only one that works. Oh, and we have no kids. We recently received our income tax return, which was one thousand dollars, and our first plan was to pay off a cash advance loan, which is 500, and save 300, then have 200 for us to spend. He is from Iraq, so he likes to help out his family when he can, and send some money over, and now he just told me he wants to send 300 dollars to his sister. I don't mind him sending money over, but we really arent at our best financially, have about 7k in credit card debt, and we live from paycheck to paycheck, and let me tell you, his check is sometimes 600 dollars, every two weeks, and that is HARD to stretch out. Ok, so my question is, should I tell him to wait a little longer to send the money, and save up, or should I let him do as he wants? I am the only that usually handles the money, so shouldn't I have a say in this?

Everybody in the other Grade 5 class calls me "Tater Tot" just because I'm 4'9 and they're all, like, 5'1. I am very self-consious about my height and it bothers me. The funny part is I've gone through puberty. No, I haven't started my periods, but still. How can I get this teasing to stop?

I'm 14.My parents don't let me go outside.I tried to talk to the new neighbors and when i stepped out the door my dad came running out of the house pulling me by my hair back into the house with him.I had a friend ,he is 15 and I miss him its about a year since iv'e seen him.My parents lie constantly.They told me that we were going to a concert soon.2 months later ,it was the day we were supposed to go to the concert when I was looking forward to it .Then they said "it was just a joke get over it" does anyone have any advice?

I am 21 and moved back in with my parents (mom and step dad) at their request to help with childcare and such...my only problem is my mother is constantly going through my room she reads my journals and recently discovered and threw out all my sex toys...I am sick to death of this and it's the reason I moved out of her house when I was 17 b/c I could not take it ne more...she does not allow me to put locks on the doors and she has had locksmiths come in to open safes that I have kept in my room and I cannot store everything in my car...I would move back out but I would be screwing the rest of my family who I love and care dearly about...does anyone have any ideas.....it's also quite annoying because she makes a point of reading my mail and not giving me all of it (sometimes she holds it until it's too late and I owe late charges on a bill or something).......THANKS!

Sam, my younger sister, is starting to terrify me. At 20 years, she's in college.

For now.

We were both brough up Christian, and I've always been proud as to how strong she has always been.

Other than an obsession with being a preacher's wife, she has lead a normal teenage life. She loves TV, pop, etc. She was normal.

As a college freshman she decided she was called to be an intercessory missionary and wanted to quit school. That was a rough 3 months for my whole family because my sister has never even been on a mission trip and is NOT ready to come up to the Kansas City International House of Prayer on her own. She has yet to even hold a job!

Lately she's can't hold a conversation without turning it into a sermon. A phone conversation attempting to find out how school is going turns into a conversation about the glory of Immanual.

I just don't know where my sister is going, and I don't know how to deal with her anymore.

My husband and I have been happily married for several years. We are in our 30s and are thinking of having a child. Financially, we can only have one. I would rather hear from parents, if the whole giving your life to a child only to have the child leave is worth the energy or not. Also is having only one child ok, or is better not to have any? Shes always yelling at me for no reason. She doesn't listen to my side of the story. I went to the movies with some friends the other day and my phone was on silent so i didn't know she called. And when I did check it, it didn't say any missed calls or anything, because the theatre has HORRIBLE reception. So I got in the car and got screamed at that I didn't call her back.
Then she says that I'm a selfish b**** and it makes me want to die,..b/c I knoe im not that way. I dont like it b/c I cry too easily. Then she tells me to come give her a hug like nothing happened. All she does is critisie me and yell at me. What do I do?!

my parents just found out i drink and now their disappointed in me bc they expected better of me bc i kno what they went thru with my brother nd sister..but i jus started and had only few sips that night ..im considering just tellin them im gonna move in with my bf..i love my parents nd would never intentially hurt them but they give me not much freedom which has caused me to rebel alittle bit..i work all the time nd on my days off which is only twice a week i wanna hang out w/ my friends as much as possible but im 17 but18 in 2 weeks nd have to be home by 930 on school nites, nd 10 mayb if im lucky 11 on the weekends..i just want to be a kid im still responsible tho ..what should i do about my parents..how should i talk to them abot this?

I'm studying abroad in France this year and it's hard to stay thin when everything is so new and exciting!!! I saw my mom over winter break, and she always has this way of making me feel like I'm at the bottom of the world. She creates a rivalry between me and my sister about who is skinnier, prettier, smarter, more successful etc. I gained 14 pounds and I'm a size 6 and she calls me obese. Is that normal? I'm 5'4-5'5 I'm starting to really take to heart what she says and it brings me to this really dark place. As much as i don't care, I really do care about what she thinks. Let me just say 2 years ago her comments made me go and I diet and i became anorexic....what to do what to do

I wanna punish him by telling him. that if he uses that wireless internet off the neighbors (and they dont' even know.. and we do'nt even know which neighbors they are ) that I will not let him in the house. That he can only do it in his little house( There is a little room outside and separate from the house).

That's not that bad, it's just something i don't want him to do cause it's our house( not his ) and we're totaly against it.

My mother told me not to do myspace. I did. She told me to be nice to my younger sister.I wasen't. I want my mom to trust me online and to be alone with me sister with out us biting our heads off. My sister is 6 and has to do every thing i do and i get mad. All My friend have myspace so why can't I.
