Family - December 2006

My parents got divorsed when i was younger, a few years ago, my mum died, my dad refused to take me and my sisters in, he doesn't want anything to do with us. so we were sent to live with our step family! My step sisters and brother's their parents died a while ago, my dad still refused to take us in so we had to go to wherever my step sisters and brothers were going. Now we're in this place where we don't like, we don't attend school, so we can't find any help with our situation that way. The kids here are always teasing us, my little step sister and step brother seems to get teased alot. We sometimes end up fighting with them. I don't like it at all. I don't want to be here, i want out. Who here has a simular story? Who here feels like they have no parents half the time? Did your parents get divorced? Do you have any of a simular story to this one! I just want to know that there is someone out there who i can trust and know that they're going through a hard time to.

I've been a SAHM for over three years with 2 children and I'm still having trouble adjusting. If I don't manage to get out during the day I feel crazy by bedtime. Some days I feel absolutely desperate for adult contact (hence asking these questions). We are active, I have other mommy friends but some days I need something more than taking a deep breath.

Okay so my fiancee wants to go up to Alaska and go on one of the commercial fishing boats. He wants to leave me for four months and not come back until four months before our wedding. He wants me to plan it all by myself. First off I'm not comfortable with who he's going with, she's kinda a slut when she drinks and she drinks a lot. I trust him but it still makes me slightly nervous. Second its dangerous and I don't want him hurt or killed. Third I don't want him leaving me with so much to do by myself. Fourth he still doesn't know where he's going to stay or anything that he should know. I've told him I dont' want him going and that it will really stress me out but he is really stubborn. Another thing is, he really isn't strong enough to do anything on a boat and he is really lazy and the job he wants requires long hours, etc. When I point these out he's too stubborn and just doesn't understand it. He'll be 20 when he leaves. What do I do?

My problem is my husband’s mother. In front of my husband and everybody else she portrays that she loves me a lot but whenever she finds me alone she will be harsh and say hurtful things to me. I know she doesn’t like me but wants her son to believe that she is treating me like her own daughter. I can sense that she is speaking bad things about me to other relatives as well. She interfares in all our decisions and tries to control our lives.
When I discuss this with my husband he becomes very defensive about his mother and tries to justify everything she says. in fact, he doesn't believe that his mother only pretends to love me. This has created resentment in our relationship as I feel that he doesn’t trust me And he feels that I want to create misunderstanding between him and his mother bcoz im jealous. How should I handle this situation. Should I just tolerate what my mom-in-law says or should I confront her? And how can I win my husband’s support and trust on this issue?

To those who are financially and medically able, why do they choose to have only one child ? Wont the child be lonely when parents have passed on .. no siblings and etc.

Okay I live with my inlaws because my husband and I have a son and we are trying to save My husband does not want an apartment because he says that it is a waste of money. Well I know my mother in law does not like me but I stay in this house anyways, but she crossed the line when she said I am a bad mother. The problem is my husband did not say anything to her about it. I feel like I am being put 2nd. I should be put first. I put up with her crap all the time because I love myhusband, but when she said that she crossed the line, and Worse my husband did not say anthing to her... how do I get her out of the picture. I already talked to my husband, and he said oh.. she is old just tune it out. I am tired of doing that, she already tells me how to raise my son, what more can I take? HELP I really need advice. I am on the verge of just leaving, and seing if he follows me .. if he loves me more than his mother!!

People say they love unconditionally, but I've seen so many cases of parents that are extremely harsh, others that kick them out to the streets before they have a job that I seriously doubt. I'm 14, dont think I'm loved and I'm not sure if I wanna be a mother.

My has a colostmy, but shes staying in a shelter cause noone is willin to help her,cause shes ripped em all off including myself. My problem is that my boyfriend and i are going out of town. But he wont let her stay in the house while were gone. And also wont get her a motel room at least. I cant cause my funds are tied up. What should i do. Leave or stay with her and just stick it out til he gets back and risk losing my relationship of 2.5 years or just leave im torn. even though she has ****** us both 10 times over,i cant decide please help.

i hate my mum im only 13 so i CANT move out i hate my dad he lives somewhere else and i dont wanna live with him everything i ask of my mum is a NO and to go to the movies i HAVE 2 PAY i cant get money though cause she recons i will hate that paper job shes ALWAYS saying that i cant do things and that id hate em not only that there is something REALLY important that i need to go to i cant tell her what because my friend doesnt want her to know iv gotter be there with her my mum is ALWAYS saying that she hates me that im a desature and she keeps having babys shes one ****** up mum she recons im spolit AS IF i hate her and i cant get away cause my dad wont let me live anywhere else i want to be put up for adoption i hate her what can i do? and when i try to work things out she walks away or yells she says shes sick of doing things for me when she does the normal shitty mum things like cleaning making us dinna etc she never takes us out or anything :'( i hate her how do i get away? thankz

My 18 yr old son and his 16 yr old girl friend. Do I try to talk to this girls parents or no since my son is 18? I feel like i should, but I don't know?? What do you think???

My huabsnd adopted his daughter after she was born. The mom and dad got married. Shortly after her brother was born. The mom left him and the kids behind and didn't look back. He stayed around when the real dad or mom wouldn't. He was with this little girl through leg braces, teeth braces,Diapering,the whole nine yards til june 2006.Now the daughter doesn't want to have anything to do with my husband.

I love my children and want the best for them, but I don't know if I can stay married to my husband for them. My family goes to church every Sunday, we eat dinner together every night, and spend weekends together. But even through all this, my husband has a girlfriend. He has admitted it and is sorry but not enough to stop his affair. He is staying in our marriage for the kids and because he cares about what people think. I still love my husband even though he does things I don't understand but I don't know if I can continue to stay in this marriage. I feel like our family is double faced. We may look like the perfect family, but really, were messed up. I don't want my kids to think our family life is normal, what we go through is healthy. I have two children. Ages 6 and 3. My husband behaves and thinks like he is doing nothing wrong and has even brought his girlfriend over for dinner.

My brother who is in his 30s will taunt his nephew whose 4, by throwing a lot of the change on the ground for nephew to pick up and give back to him. He says nephew is greedy. Then my brother will get money out le't say $10s and $20s and say which one do you want? Then brother will take a $1 and say no to my nephew and not give him anything, and put it back in his wallet. He claims nephew is greedy and unthoughtful, and my brother does this all the time without giving him a dime. What kind of behavior is this?

My brother will even eat in front of my nephew without giving him a bite or bringing him something.
P.S. I always give my nephew something as I believe in sharing.

Why is it that people in the UK think that people whom claim benefits are somehow taking something away from them personally . Wouldnt you still have to pay all the taxes etc .Even if there wasnt a benefit system in place .?

I'm 18 and my boyfriend is 17 - turning 18 in 3 months.
He got kicked out of his house and doesn't have any friends that can take him in.

I'm trying to get an apartment so that he can live with me while we both go to school and work. But since he's not 18 yet is there anything we can do to avoid being denied an apartment???

Living in the car is really hard and especially because its FREEZING up here in the midwest....and it especially makes it hard to get looking nice for job interviews. Its only been one night but where are we supposed to go? My mom and sister and brother (one state below us) won't let us stay with them because we're not married yet because he's not 18.

Is there anyway to get around the both people have to be 18 thing to get an apartment?????? Let me know pleeease!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know this sounds stupid or made up but its true so please please give me any advice or knowledge you have because I hate sleeping in the car every night...

I've done a couple minor things in teh past, and my parents are already incredibly over protective. It's impossible to get them to listen to me, because they always think I'm deceiving them. I don't know how to completely win their trust, and it really bothers me because I've had multiple restrictions put on me because they think i'm lying, or because they think i'm trying to break rules. I just don't know what to do anymore.

I owe my parents $1250 and my dad has been joking about wanting it now. I actually have the money to pay him back so I was thinking about going to the bank and getting 1250 one dollar bills and wrapping them in a box for Chrismas. 1. Is this a stupid idea? 2.
