I've been a SAHM for over three years with 2 children and I'm still having trouble adjusting. If I don't manage to get out during the day I feel crazy by bedtime. Some days I feel absolutely desperate for adult contact (hence asking these questions). We are active, I have other mommy friends but some days I need something more than taking a deep breath.

I have two classes that I take - evening, clogging! Great fun and aerobic too.

Also I connect with church friends

I make stuff out of recycled card/pieced paper and old postage stamps. Some I sell for peanuts.

I sell stuff I get at garage sales on eBay. That is fun, but taxes my ingenuity and detail skills (almost non-existent so it is a stretch)

I exercise some mornings with a lady on the PBS channel - Margaret Richards, at 6:30am. Go ME!!

It gets easier to get out after the little ones hit 3 and above. You can hire a proper babysitter then and go for more than an hour at a time. We also homeschooled, so there were days - - -say no more!!

Be blessed and be serene.

You need a social life outside of the children. You need to once in a while go out with a friend without her kids or yours and have a coffee or do a bit of shopping. Something that's away from children altogether. Leave them home with their dad. It's a good bonding experience plus it will give him insight into your days.

I knit or do other crafts and arts. Find yourself a hobby that can take your mind temporarily off of things.

I'm not. That's why I'm going back to work.
