when all they ever do is just sit there on the floor and cry whenever i yell at them to get me a beer....i mean sheesh if your infant was such a prodigy don't you think it should at least be able to do back flips and fight off ninjas?

Um, actually, my kids are smart. My two year old knows when to get me beer, when to get me wine or when to forget all that and just bring me the liquor! its all about training them early!
(Oh, for everyone out there with out a sense of humor..i'm just joking.)

It's a way to boost their own ego. Just wait, if you have kids it gets worse. And grand parents are great too, they have battles over whose grand kid walked or talked 1st. And a heads up, some women can be ruthless when it comes to how much better their baby is.
Personally, I love my kids but all infants are pretty much the same, eat, sleep and make nasty diapers!

If people didn't think that their kids were the cutest and smartest kids, people would probably stop having kids and the human race would die out.
Also, bragging about one's own children is one of the few acceptable forms of narcissism.
