My son is 12 years old. I had pre-marriage sex with a ex boyfriend and thus my son was born. My ex didn't want anything to do with the kid at the time so I was left to raise him alone. Now 12 years have passed and I got a phone call a couple days ago. My ex wants to see his son. And he told me he is dying from HIV. (slept with too many woman after me I assume.) I personally don't think he deserves to see my son. He never paid for child support, sent him birthday cards, or tried to even get in contact with us until now. I know I may sound heartless, but that man was heartless! Leaving me pregnant! And I don't want my son to go through the trama of death.....I really don't know what is right to do....

When I see her or talk to her (my stepdaughter) she still gets all emotional and cries which there is nothing wrong with that, because she associates us two together. Any suggestions or answers.

My boyfriend is Mexican and his family makes fun of him because he always cooks and I never do. My excuse is that it's their house, why should I have to cook? I feel weird, I don't know where their stuff is. He gets annoyed when I can't find a pan or spatula in their kitchen, as if this means that I don't know how to cook. I don't mind cooking for him in my own house but I feel embarrassed because I don't really know what to make for him. I wasn't exactly brought up in a house full of women who are legendary cooks that started teaching me when I was a toddler. Has anybody else had this problem?

I am in a bind, me and my father and stepmother do not get along for very personal reasons. They emailed my boyfriend and basically b!tched him out about his and that, and basically said that he wasnt good enough for me, and he was a no good sob and deserved his life to be hell, in which is already is. He is trying to get his life back together, well after reading all this and having time to think about it. He decided that it would be best if he just break up with me. Meaning everything that we worked for as a team to prove to my father just went down the drain. My stepmother said that he wasnt worthy enough for me, and it some how brainwashed him into believeing it as well. Basicaly my stepmother got her way what she wants she gets its always been that way, any advice on how I can keep him and what to do with the father and stepmother besides wanting to k!ll them. (figure of speach)

his behavior is very aggressive. He doesn't follow simple instructions. His mother's behavior with him (tons of rules and NO give whatsoever) has made him nervous and frustrated. He will be 5 in December. He doesn't answer questions in complete sentences. They put him in pre-K in their local elementary school, and after 3 days withdrew him - his behavior was so bad, he spent 3 days in the office. I live in OH and they live in TX. At the moment, they are not talking to me because I mentioned that they might need to get some help to get things sorted out.

My brother called up a roofer to come over and give an estimate on the roofing repairs. (The Living Will states he, and myself are entitled to the estate). Weeks later I call up the roofing contractor, and tell him we are interested in drawing up a contract, as I am paying for all the costs.

The roofer comes up to sign the contract with my brother's name on it. My brother asks really rudely: "Who is paying for all this?"
No one says anything as he will not contribute one dime as I will pay for everything. Then he says to the contractor: "Take my name off. I want nothing to do with this."

Now, he calls and complains to my mother each night how he is scared and worried that he will be taken off the will, and won't get his share because of what he did. (by the way there were many repairs needed to the house $40K worth, and my whole family contributed to our share of repair EXCEPT my brother,. He wants a copy of the will. What to do?

I have a son, 18 years old, studying Media (his chosen subject) in College. Lately, I have received bad reports from his tutors about his performances. He is not doing his work and assignments and hardly does the minimum of what he is asked to do.
He might even drop this year. :(
I am very concerned and I would do anything to make him understand that studying in early years is his gain on medium to long terms.
He lacks interest in all he does (eg house work); all he enjoys is the company of his friends (that he brings home daily) and going out drinking.
Please help with real practical advice.

Moved to his place to live with his family. I have no privacy and can't decide anything. He wanted me to listen whatever his mother say and do whatever she wants. I asked him to move out he said he'll never move out because he wants to help his family. Now i'm staying with my mom and he wanted to bring us back( my 2 month old daughter and I). what can i do for the best of my daughter?

My Mom's birthday is coming up and I don't know what I should do. I'm only 15 so I can't really do "to" much for her. I'm also a little starpped for cash, so unfortunately I can't do anything expensive for her :(
I love her very much and this year has been very hard on her so I wanted to do something extra nice for her but I am having trouble on what to do.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I am currently in a relationship with this great guy that i really love. We have been dating for 9 months and its seem to be getting pretty serious. He has a son and is raising him by himself and I am a single mother aswell with 2 kids. With the holiday coming along we are both deciding what 2 do. He is planning on going out of town, but has not yet asked if we would like to join him for Thanksginving. I would really like for him to spend it with me and my family, but I am not sure how to break it down to him without causing a problem or is it right that we not spend it together and I not make a big deal out of it?

My 32 year old daughter who is single and who works very very hard and is a sucessful Manager of a small firm gets home every evening at 7.00pm - She rings ahead (about 6.00pm) and asks me to fix her something to eat as she is hungry by the time she gets the sub-way home. She gives me about 300 dollars every month for rent and gas etc. I have to make dinner at 5.30pm for my partner who is also hungry coming home from work. My daughter doesn't like micro-waved food or re-heated food. She is a good daughter but I am tired after sitting my other daughters two children every day. What do you think I should say to my daughter - Is it reasonable to ask her to take her main meal during her lunch break?

Well, after some pleading I finally convinced my husband to let my grandpa who lives 2 hours away to come down and stay with us for a week so he could take me places if I needed to go since I don't drive. My grandpa used to be a navy seal before he retired from them. Unfortunately I think he still thinks he is one because after he came down yesterday morning he immediately started "staking out" the neighborhood and build a makeshift guard shack near the mailbox. He brought his german sheperd with him too. He keeps saying the garage is his base of operations and is taking apart his rifles and cleaning them and has put maps up of the area. Well yesterday, I told him I needed to go across the street to borrow some sugar but when I got there the lady wanted to show me something in her backyard and my grandpa got worried because I was gone long. Well, he rang the door bell and no one answers so he thought i was being held hostage and busted through their window. Now my husband had to
