get a divorce. split the cost. get a clean break because if u ever decided to purchase a house in the future as long as u are "married" he will have a vested interest in your house and his name will have to go on your mortgage. separated = married. divorced = not married. take back YOUR life and be happy. and if he still refuses to split the cost. save up and do it yourself. that's just his way of keeping you trapped. men can continue with thier life as if they are single during a separation but women on the other hand can not. for instance children. if u have children, did not divorce, moved in with another man, etc. the courts would look down on that making it harder for you to maintain a decent respectable life. Get the Divorce. Pay for it yourself if he's not man enough to do his part.

If it's something you both want, wouldn't it make sense that you each pay for half? You will save a lot of money outside of court fees if you can agree on the settlement before hand and just need the seal of approval from the judge.

If you both can talk to each other just sit down and see who owes who and settle it up by your self. You you can't do this you could go to the court. But it will take lot of time and extra money
