My brother called up a roofer to come over and give an estimate on the roofing repairs. (The Living Will states he, and myself are entitled to the estate). Weeks later I call up the roofing contractor, and tell him we are interested in drawing up a contract, as I am paying for all the costs.

The roofer comes up to sign the contract with my brother's name on it. My brother asks really rudely: "Who is paying for all this?"
No one says anything as he will not contribute one dime as I will pay for everything. Then he says to the contractor: "Take my name off. I want nothing to do with this."

Now, he calls and complains to my mother each night how he is scared and worried that he will be taken off the will, and won't get his share because of what he did. (by the way there were many repairs needed to the house $40K worth, and my whole family contributed to our share of repair EXCEPT my brother,. He wants a copy of the will. What to do?

He also suffers serious depression, and always thinks about money and how he is entitled to everything.

personally i think that whatever is in your mothers will and who will get what share if any is none of any ones business but your mothers. I can't stand how when the subject of death comes up everyone starts sticking their hands out for their share of whatever the person had, you get what you give maybe you should tell that to your brother. He doesn't want to give any money to your mother or her household needs he shouldn't be expecting any from her estate.

Yes your right, your brother really is an ***. As to what to do well, that is entirely up to your mom.
she needs to tell him to start sharing with the expenses if he wants his name on the title of the house. Fair is fair, and he's using you and the rest of the family.. Good Luck with Mr. Drama....

I can understand where he's coming from. He doesn't have the money, or is too scared to spend it. But I personally think he DOES deserve some of the will... but deffinitly not more than the rest of the family who contributed.

I'd take the high rode if I were you. Give him what he wants even if he isn't going to like what he sees. Then tell him that the truth hurts sometimes, but you only gave him what he asked for.

YOUR BROTHER IS SELFISH AND HAS NO RIGHT TO SEE THE WILL. WHOEVERS WILL IT IS WOULD BE SMART TO GIVE HIM VERY LITTLE SEEING AS THAT HE IS ONLY INTERESTED IN HIMSELF.
