OK.. my grandaughter was being punished for sassing her Mom at their house , so her favorite tv program was taken away from her which I understand. When they are here we all always watch her favorite program, as we like it too. When they got to my house her Mom said to her, shut that program off now! Well I feel this is my house and we can watch whatever prgram we want to, as she did no wrong here..the girls are always good for me and it took place at their house and not at my house...my husband also agrees and likes the program also, actually it is the Disney Channel. She only watched it for a short time before the Dad came and picked them up and I wanted to let her watch it all the while she was here! It's not right to punish a child for something she did not do at my house is really how I feel. Please anyone give me your advice... I don't appreciate anyone telling me what to do in my own house or what tv program I can watch. Rosie

Incident One:
A little boy died because surgeons found ants in his brain! Apparently this boy fell asleep with some sweets in his mouth or with some sweet stuff beside him. Ants soon got to him and some ants in fact crawled into his ear which somehow managed to go to his brain. When he woke up, he did not realize that ants had gone to his head. After that, he constantly complained about itchiness around his face. His mother brought him to a doctor, but the doctor could not figure out what was wrong with him. He took an X-ray of the boy and to his horror, he found a group of live ants in his skull. Since the ants were still alive, the doctor could not operate on him because the ants were constantly moving around. The boy finally died.
So please be careful when leaving food stuff near your bed or when eating in bed.
This might attract ants. Most importantly, NEVER you or your child eat sweets before going to bed. You or your child might attract ants while you are asleep.

Incident Two:

Another similar incident happened in a hospital in Taiwan . This man was warded in the hospital and was constantly warned by the nurses not to leave food stuff by his bedside because there were ants about. He did not heed their advice. Ants finally got to him. His family members said that the man constantly complained about headaches. He died and a post mortem or autopsy was done on him. Doctors found a group of live ants in his head. Apparently, the ants had been eating bits of his brain.
So friends, better be safe than sorry. Never leave food stuff beside your bed you when you go to sleep.

My life's at a crossroad right now. I don't know which way to choose. The worst part is that I have to drag my wife into this as well, she trusts me completely. Don't worry it's nothing illegal, it's just something that would change both our lives.

Although if you fail it doesn't make a big difference, but would you rather regret doing something or not doing it?

Hello I am a single parent of 3 and have been out of work for a little over 2 months. I got fired cause I called in to let them know that my daughter was sick. They told me that I did have to come back to work. Now I am having a big problem cause I am behind $461.00 and I can not afford to pay my light bill and right now .They put one of those notices on my door so my lights will be turned off any day now. I am in need for some help and do not know where to go. I have called around to try to get help but I had no luck. if anyone out there know a quick way that I can help please let me know because I hav been crying for the past 2 days .. I just do not want my kids to suffer for something there mother should have been able to take care of..

My brother just go married 7 months ago. I only go over to their home when I am invited, but every time I go it is dirty. The carpet has stains, food is out from the night before, kitchen floor is all sticky with black stains and crumbs, trash smells, toilets are green and black inside the bowl etc.......Last time I got on my hands and knees and cleaned the kitchen floor with pine sol. There was no mop. His wife said it was dirty because she baby sits, but how many day cares are so dirty? I don't want to hurt my brothers feelings by putting his wife down. Plus they just had a baby a months ago. Still my baby is 7 months and my house has never been so filthy.

My husband and I have an 18 month old son who is allergic to peanuts. How do I get our extended family to understand the severity of his allergy without hurting anyone's feelings? They all try to feed him and offer him fluids of different things w/out first having knowledge of the products ingredients, etc. We had it set that no one is to feed him but us, but at our sister's wedding everyone seemed to forget or ignore this. No one acts like they understand he could die from a reaction. Our Grandmother said she could pick noodles (w/unknown ingredients) out of a salad for him to eat. I was blown away for, I have told her many times of cross contamination. I am now terrified to ever leave him in anyone else's care. Please help

Ha ve you as a parent ever just washed your hands of your children?
My mom did when I was 18 except for every once in awhile it stayed like that for over 20 years just because I moved out and took my son with me. i was over 18 and she didn't agree with me leaving. She hardly ever saw my kids until they were grown. Please never totally disown your kids they did not ask to be brought into this world. My 28 year old was a handful all her life and we had many arguments resulting in awful things said by us both but she always knew I was here for her no matter what. 11 months ago she was murdered by her BF her and I had augued the day before which sometimes resulted in our not speaking for awhile but because I knew she was upset with her BF I went to visit her and tell her I loved her around 8 hours later she was dead. I say this to spare any parent the anguish of letting the last words be angry ones. Trust me if you lose a child it is horrible no matter but if your last words were in anger well all I can say is I proably wouldn't be able to live with myself

I have a bit of a dilemma. My cousin who is 17 (I'm 22), is like a sister to me, were really good friends. The other day me and her were at her sister's house, she came out of the bathroom; I went by the bathroom and could smell the cigarette smoke roll out. Most of the people I know smoke, including all but two of my older cousins, I have never tried it and never will, theirs a surgeon general warning on the label for a reason. So what do I do, do I tell her mother, her sister, my mom, do I ignore it all together, do I confront her about it. I'm sorta shocked but not really surprised she started smoking, her parents especially her dad, is really hard on her, I also think she has low self-esteem. Her sister smokes, and several of her friends, she's told me on several occasions in the past that she would never smoke. I love her so much; I'm really worried about her, she's been very distant and never calls or comes over. I always thought I knew her better than this. : - (

i am from germany so my family could'nt be here. i had most friends come by during the day and my in-laws later that same day. three of my friends that i consider family stayed when my family arrived. my in-laws completely ignored my friends, went in the kitchen instead of the living-room! i was busy cooking and caring for my son and all i could do was to be embarassed. because i do not want this to happen again i called my mother-in-law a day later and asked what could be done to change this situation since my friends will be invited again. she told me it was my responsibility as a hostess to see that everybody is interacting and i simply did it wrong! i introduced them, told them where i met them and for how long we are friends. is my mother-in-law right? did i fail as a hostess or are my in-laws simply rude? what can i do?

My mom has passed away and my dad takes care of my brother. I have tried often to get plans set up on what will happen to my brother when my dad passes. He says "it is taken care of" when I know it is not. My dad is very selfish and is not taking care of this situation and I cannot make him do it. I am worried. I will not be able to take care of my brother for the rest of my life. He has SSI benefits but not enough to live on. He has cerebral palsy and is not retarded, just a little slow. He is too bright to live in a group home and has said, "he would rather die than live in a place like that." Are there any alternatives?
