my father and i got into a fight because he has cancer. not a fist fight just a huge argument. The fight was over his cancer because the doctors told him to do two things stop smoking and start walking. He is in stage 4 cancer however the doctors told him that he does have a 14% chance of beating it. Thats not very good but if it were me i would say hell with the smokes i could be one of the 14 out of 100 to survive. He has chosen not to stop, but he lied to me and continues to lie. I told him the other day i cant sit there and watch him kill himself every day. He threatened to kick me out because he said i was causing to much stress. I told him politly i would be out by december. The thing is i might have a chance to get it done this week. I think hes completly dreading it because today he told me dont be foolish your in college dont add stress to yourself. I want to make my point clear, at the same time i dont want to hurt his feelings. We are ok know we talk but im still

He is really a jerk, and a terrible person who lies and cheats. I don't see him much because my mom rarely brings him over while I'm here (she knows i find him to be a vulgar and disagreeable person), but I hate how he treats her. I want to help my mom. I've talked to her time and time again about the way he treats her but she will not take my input no matter how much I plead with her to drop him. He also drinks too much.
Please help me, what can I do about this? How can I make her get rid of him or make them break up?

I've had a decent relationship with my mother for the most part. We've had our share of ups and downs. Sometimes she provokes me, and I'm unable to control my anger. Therefore, I lash out. Now that I'm 20 years old I need some alone time. It's necessary to recoup throughout the week. However, she follows me down basement (entertainment area), living, family and computer rooms. I know, this is the result of lonliness. Nonetheless, it annoys the hell out of me. I've told her nicely; but she continues to pester me. The only way she'll get the clue is if I cuss her out. It's rude, of course. Yet, I can't watch any of my favorite shows, movies or even talk to my friends without her invading my privacy.

In which way can I approach this situation without hurting her feelings?

Here is your mission- You have a sister with Borderline Personality Disorder has spent over 50 years avoiding mental health care. After more than 30 years she tries to plan a visit "back home" to a Midwestern city where none of her relatives are intersted in rekindling family ties, none of the old school friends are there anymore and those who are don;t want to see her either. She has very little money and she is waiting for you to invite her to stay with you and for you to drive her around this major city "sightseeing", entertaining her 17 year old son she is dragging along and feeding her for what may turn out to be a two week stay. Do you tell her staright out that she is not welcome? Do you warn the rest fo the family of her possible reign of terror? Do you ignore the calls and emails and hope your silence will sink in and make her stop trying to contact you...

I am raising my 20 month old cousin...I have her from Sunday to either Friday or Saturday. Her father has custody and gets her on the weekends because he drives a truck. When they came back this weekend I found out that he took her and spent the night at his brothers house who is on parole for child molestation and not suppose to be around children. If I raise too much hell he may take her from me , I have no legal custody...I don't see any signs that anything happened to her but I am uncomfortable about her being around him.

My daughter's father read her diary without her permission. He is now holding against her a comment she wrote about him. He actually used the comment she said as an excuse not to come see her for a while. (The comment was because he broke yet another promise to her and she was upset.)
I am interested in knowing:
A.Would you read your child's diary without permission?
B.If you found something unsavory about yourself, would you confront your child, or assume you shouldn't have read it in the first place?
C.Barring a life-or-death situation (ie. suicide or drugs) would you even admit to your kid that you snooped through their personal stuff?

Thanks for your help..my daughter has tried everything to work out a relationship with this deadbeat and I just need honest input ..because I feel he is using this as yet another excuse not to work on their relationship.

My mother in law is very different. She talks about her daughter and son in law behind their backs. I have tried to be different and almost like I dont care. She doesnt do it often but when she does its awful. I thought about the next time she does is to stand up for the sister in law or brother in law. I am also depressed and going threw a point in my marriage where I want out. He is a great guy other than his mother, but I am so bored and I see everyone else having fun. I dunno is this just a phase or should I really get out???

I recently found out my 14year old daughter and two of her girl friends snuck out of the house. I am very involved with my kids and know where they are 24/7 and feel like they can talk to me pretty openly. But, with my 14 year old looking like shes 21 I can be a little strict. She was supposed to be staying all night with this girl(which is from a very good home with good morals) The girls had some guy friends take them to a party and drank. While we thought they were in bed asleep. She is grounded. She has no cell phone, house phone and computer privilages. I truely think she is sorry and wont do it again-but, I have been checking her computer-voicemail and stuff to find out anything else she hasn't old me. I remember being a teen and snuck out a time or two-but not this young. This world is different from when I was a teen 20yrs ago! I see the things going on in this world today with drugs, sex, drinking and it really scares me. We are from a small town with nothing to do-ANY ADVISE

What are some reasons you might not have sex with your gf for 2 months? I have been dating my guy for 4 years, but for the past year he never wants to do it anymore. Do you think he's not interested in me anymore? Can guys really go that long and still be faithful?

My daughter who is almost eight lied to my husband the other day. She had gotten into trouble at school for talking on Friday. She told me and I basically told her that it was okay, and not to talk when she wasn't supposed to talk. She never gets in trouble, so this wasn't a big deal since it's not repetitve. She asked me not to tell her dad, I told her I wouldn't b/c I want her to be able to come and talk to me. I did however tell her father, He was making small talk and asked her if she had gotten into trouble this year (she usually tells him things she asks me not to tell) so she said no, he asked her specifically if she had had her green card taken at all this year. She said no, which is what happened. We are very strcit on lying b/c we feel that is the key to communication is belieiving her. Anyway, he told her he knew she was lying and she had to go set in my room for about an hour. We had plans to go places both Saturday and Sunday and cancelled those plans for punishment.
